Re: GAME OF THRONES - PART 6 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
urbaNRoots wrote:Currently Game of Thrones is looking to cast the role of a “hapless sly son to cruel father.” The son is in his late 30’s.
This is a very good part in this season who appears in three episodes.
We need a characterful-looking guy – long nose and skeletal features and perhaps a bit sly – to play a son who is unable to live up to the demands of his savage father. We need a really good actor for this part – he has good scenes with lots of the leading cast. The character has a great storyline. There are no options and this is a one-off opportunity for a good clever actor to come and make his mark on this major hit show

Max von Sydow is another amazing actor. My god these last 2 castings have been incredible. Absolutely incredible.
Bran is probably going to have a huuuuuuuge role this season if Bloodraven is such a goat actor.

von Sydow tweeted about his excitement to join the cast and strangely enough among other GoT cast members included Eric Roberts in his tweet and then later the latter retweeted it.
Could be looking too deep into things but Eric *bleep* Roberts might have joined the GoT cast, we'll know soon enough anyway.

Quite sure The winds of winter is largely based on Bran and Bloodraven
Bad thing is that D&D will write the episodes themselves instead of taking it from the source material.

Re: GAME OF THRONES - PART 6 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
so that could be the reason a certain someone died in the last episode of s5. to make room perhaps. GRRM once again making a fool of his readers.
Pretty sure Tyrion will get killed in the 1st episode of s6 too so that Gendry can return.
Same with the villains. Cersei will get killed soon and so as Ramsey. so that Littlefinger, and Olly the new villains can showcase their range of villainy even more.
Bran vs Olly the last fight !

Re: GAME OF THRONES - PART 6 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
Sources close to the production of Season 6 tease a massive game-changing event by the White Walkers being worked on, and will be filmed by October. When pressed for details the source would only say, “If you think the special effects were magnificent in last season’s (5) eight episode, you had better prepare for utter shock coming up next year. Not only are the dragons going to be massive next season, but viewers are about to learn more about the mysterious creatures from the Lands of Always Winter.
So, will there be another battle? “I’m sworn to secrecy, but I can assure you, the scenes planned will break the Internet.”

Re: GAME OF THRONES - PART 6 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
Yea it seems so or may be even IDs which will be even more cool, or perhaps the coolest. Great news btw.
Season 6 hype has really started it looks as if. Hope the sand snakes and others wont dampen it and disappoint us finally when the time comes.
And hope they improve certain aspects of CGI this season like the dragon riding part. It was really bad last time they showed it. Dany riding Drogon. Highly likely There will be more and more scenes of similar scale and fashion next season. So eventhough episode 8 special effects were GOAT CGI overall wasnt that special I felt. So amp it up Game of Thrones!

Re: GAME OF THRONES - PART 6 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
Young Ned has been confirmed for S6 as expected by the earlier casting calls.
With the 7 year old being Ned, I expect the 12 year old boy to be Brandon Stark (as in Ned's older brother, burned by the Mad King) and the large boy as Robert Baratheon even though he can hardly be described as "clever"
Flashbacks ffs
A large boy, with an actor who is 10-12 but playing 7 or 8. He’s described as “a clever boy” who seems too large for his age. He’s big and tall but not fat. “Characterful squat features” are a plus for this part. it’s specified that this is a one-time appearance.
12 year old boy, with brown hair and blue eyes. He needs to use a Northern accent. He has scenes where he has to spar with a wooden sword. The length of the role isn’t specified.
7 year old boy with dark brown hair, a narrow face and green eyes. He also has a Northern accent. He also spars with the wooden sword, so it’s safe to assume it’s the same scene. This role is similarly open-ended, the description only stating that the character is being ‘introduced

Re: GAME OF THRONES - PART 6 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
Been watching the series and caught up a few days ago. Some of my thoughts:
- Spoiler:
- I enjoy it, just hate the fact that 95% of my favorite characters have been killed and haven't been replaced by anyone interesting. Tyrion and Arya are the only ones who are still alive that I'm a fan of.
I also don't think I've ever hated a character more than Jojen. The moment he was killed was the best moment in the series IMO.

Re: GAME OF THRONES - PART 6 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
Lord of Noble Northern House: (Casting age anywhere between 25-50) The lord is a savage warrior, and he rules a distinguished house in the very far North, and the role is said to be an impactful one. He’s described as a massive bear of a man with a beard and temper to match, and hatred that run deep, and he can be violent. The show’s looking for someone with a powerful physique who can tower over other cast members, a Northern English Accent and specifies he has to be at least 180 cm tall. The role will be on 2 episodes.
Lord of Northern Stronghold: The show’s looking for an actor in his late thirties or forties to play another lord, one that’s ruthless and calculating. The frightening lord rules a vassal household with a castle stronghold. He’ll be in 3 episodes this year, with 20 days of filming this summer and fall
It's been confirmed that the Lord of Noble Northern House is Smalljon Umber, the son of Greatjon Umber who appeared back in S1 (see pic below)

While the 2nd lord has been confirmed as Lord Karstark, presumably the brother (since all his sons died for Robb) of Rickard Karstark (see below)

Re: GAME OF THRONES - PART 6 - *NO BOOK TALK - READ THE RULES*
Today was a huge day for Game of Thrones filming, according to our sources. Portions of a major scene were filmed in Ballintoy, Northern Ireland, and reports say that one of the sixth season’s new stars was front and center.
Sources report that Danish actor Pilou Asbæk will be playing the role of Euron Greyjoy. The actor was spotted shooting today with the cast around Ballintoy Harbour, in a scene that involved a crowd cheering for Euron.
Asbæk starred in the successful Danish series Borgen as Kasper Juul, along with GoT guest star Birgitte Hjort Sørensen. He appeared as Paolo Orsini on The Borgias, and is playing Pontius Pilate in the newest version of Ben-Hur.
HBO has declined to confirm all castings this year (except for two official announcements via EW), so we can’t call this casting official at this time

lmao at Tyrion.El Gunner wrote:That guy looks like a combination of Tyrion and Theon
I like it that he looks like Theon, since he is Theon's Uncle. He has those crazy eyes of Euron and seems another talent actor rather than a big name (ala Pedro Pascal). I hope he nails the character as I believe he will, he certainly looks the part.
