Where will Sterling be next season ?
Re: OFFICIAL : Raheem Sterling joins Man City
Man i can't understand why would you want to keep a player that doesn't want to play for your club?
It is just baffling.
I don't care if it was Hazard or Mikel no player should be kept against their will.

Re: OFFICIAL : Raheem Sterling joins Man City
You all keep building your considerations on the assumption that Liverpool will consider it a failure or disaster if Sterling stays this summer then leaves next for less than the 35m or so that City have already offered... The fact is (based on all available information) that the club WON'T. No matter what we'll make a hefty profit on Sterling and even if he under performs he's hurting himself as much as he's causing any issues for LFC. Given that his refusal to sign a deal leaves him on 30-35k base salary the club see the current situation as a consistent profit, with a player playing for well under his value (whether you use the offered 100k or the demanded 150-175k).
If a move fails to materialize this summer Sterling faces two real options: sulk and risk turning potential suitors off of a move in coming windows or play and try to ensure they want him enough to meet Liverpool's (reduced) demands next summer. Sure, Sterling is no Suarez and certainly may choose the former, but if he does the club still isn't hugely hit due to his relatively low wages and the fact that his age makes it fairly easy to drop him back down a level still.
All of that said, City almost certainly WILL meet the 50m valuation, Liverpool WILL agree to that deal, and Sterling WILL get the massive 200k or w/e contract he demands.

Honestly, considering that with West Ham and Tottenham at least two clubs are in for him, Alex Song is more deserving of a 'war' thread

tbh if it were up to me I would sell sterling. but I think the way the club are looking at it is if we have a very good season and get back in the top 4 maybe sterling will sign a new deal.

Tottenham and West Ham don't have big enough resources to start a war imo

Refusing to go on pre-season is a really really disrespectful move.

Re: OFFICIAL : Raheem Sterling joins Man City
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/raheem-sterling-wants-miss-liverpool-9609422Liverpool FC still expect Raheem Sterling to be part of their squad for the pre-season tour - despite the wantaway winger's desire to miss the trip to the Far East and Australia...
...However, Liverpool's stance remains unchanged and until Man City match their £50million valuation then the 20-year-old will be expected to honour his commitments.
Unless a deal is in place, the Reds will demand that Sterling travels and if he fails to show up then he will be subject to disciplinary action.

I hope that nobody meets Liverpool's valuation of Sterling and they hold onto him for at least another year. Just to piss him off.

Man city will delay this till late August. No one else will even think about spending 50m on him.
Most likely he will stay at Liverpool.

Addition to this.
Since no one else is in the race , they will wait till the end of the market and will try to reduce the transfer fee.

Re: OFFICIAL : Raheem Sterling joins Man City
So apparently Sterling asking for more than 100k a week is a no go, but Liverpool asking £50m for him is ok.
Liverpool better grow up, imo.

Wrong, Hans.
Liverpool has thrown the money at Sterling. And keep trying too.
Sterling keeps rejecting the offers by Liverpool. It's why Liverpool's took the whole thing to the press to try and pressurize him into signing a new deal. Because regardless of what these fools say he is arguably one of the best talents in the world right now.
Unfortunately he has a stupid agent that is doing him no good. It's reported Bayern were fully interested but only backed away because of his agent.
Anyway, Sterling doesn't want to stay at Liverpool because Liverpool has no future under Rodgers and Sterling wants to win silverware. The relationship between Sterling and Rodgers is pretty much finished. And with FSG opting to keep Rodgers, Sterling will now be sold because he doesn't want to be at a club with no ambition.

Re: OFFICIAL : Raheem Sterling joins Man City
Liverpool don't have to pay sterling more than they are happy to pay. and city don't have to pay more for sterling than they are happy to pay. but im sure Bayern are happy to not only sell their best players. but im sure they let the buying club set the price.Hapless_Hans wrote:So apparently Sterling asking for more than 100k a week is a no go, but Liverpool asking £50m for him is ok.

I also hope sterling puts in a transfer request. it would mean he don't get a penny of the transfer fee.nasir6371 wrote:http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/football/clubs/liverpool/article4490943.eceBe a good lad and put in a transfer requestTony Barrett wrote:Raheem Sterling has asked to be left out of Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East amid interest from Manchester City in the forwardTony Barrett wrote:As yet, City have refused to meet that valuation with their two bids, coming in the space of six days, of £30 million and £40 million, both of which were dismissed out of hand by Liverpool.Tony Barrett wrote:Liverpool will not stand in Sterling’s way if they receive an offer in excess of £50 million for a player who is widely regarded as one of European football’s most exciting talents.Tony Barrett wrote:[Liverpool] pursuing their interest in Pedro, the Barcelona forward, or Denis Cheryshev, the Real Madrid winger..

Liverpool need to do what's best and let the boy leave. Let him progress in his career. This has become more and more of a farce now.

reports now saying sterling don't want to play for Rodgers. wonder why. all Rodgers did was take a kid playing youth team football and turn him into a prem lge millionaire star player in 2 years.

The more toys he's throwing out of the pram, the more I like the idea of forcing him to stay. But nah, I hope he's gone for £50m by the end of the window.
