Only makes it worse when you can't win with an injuerd opponent.

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:I have a huge problem with anyone who says he threw the league away last year, only reason it was close was because Valdes got injured (Barca were starting to run away with at that point) and Atletico were the most consistent team.
Madrid at no stage threw it away and were extremely lucky to be even involved at the end to begin with.
They got an advantage through Ozil's injury, Valdes Injury and getting a formula that worked, yet he ran the players into the ground. I get what you mean but what you said just makes his case even worse tbh.

Brendan Rodgers
He can speak Spanish and he once made Suarez train with the reserves so he's absolutely world class. I really would hate it if you guys were to lure him away from Liverpool but with the amount of character and self belief he has, and with that winning mentality of his, I really think he could push Madrid to the next level.

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
Real Madrid strongly interested in Benitez.Liverpool (which has contacted Klopp too in case they decide to change manager) and Manchester City have tried some indirect contacts, but Real is ahead in negotiations. The negotiation between the parts is advanced, the contacts are continuing: and so Rafa Benitez is Ancelotti's successor? Real Madrid's chairman, Florentino Perez, is seriously thinking about him, he's ready to make a revolution after this season. Then, after the contacts in the past, Benitez and Merengues might join soon each other.

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
dunno RG, i feel strongly about Benitez but he has two problems. he cant sign for shet, and Napoli sucks. Got to revisit those old threads to remember why i loved him before.RealGunner wrote:Nick is gonna love this
I think it goes along the lines of his football mind being brilliant, and his ability to communicate with people.
yeah, but Napoli is shit...

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
well yeah, one problem Benitez has always had was gambling on players to get talents at low cost. In Madrid you get first cut, premium quality.
Anyway, Di Marzio only confirm Jugones reports that Klopp and Benitez are the two seriously considered to take over.
But there is so much negative opinion on Benitez out there, a bit unfair in my opinion

Wont be surprised to see him dethrone Barca if he goes there.
He could turn out like the way Allegri has turned out for us.

Is this opinion on benitez actually by Madrid hierarchy. They hired Ramos ffs! I hope they get Klopp, I'm curious to see how Madrid will play.

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
well at least he answers some aspect of what carlo is weak at.
Rotations? check
problem has always is that we need a coach that can get us to play dominant attacking football, against a universe of teams that play counter and bunker down vs us. Yet we still look for reactionnaries, counter attackers, guys that look at video to see where you are weak and prepare to counter u

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
Isn't Benitez too more of a cup specialist?
Wouldn't that be very similar to Carlo?
But with more fuzz?

still think it's absolute nonsense to fire Carlo btw and I would actually bet Carlo remains.

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
benitez is going to eat straight out of CR's ass. Look Jibers, every manager that coach him will, the only way to stop it, you sell him away.
@Hans, flopped too badly in la liga to remain, he deserves it imo, specially when he didnt adjust. you keep winning the bundi so u cant understand, gtfo.
And as far as him being a cup specialist, that's true, but you can also argue that he hasnt exactly coached teams that were supposed to walk on their leagues so to speak.

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
Don't get me wrong I like Benitez (though I admit I hardly know what he did at Napoli except winning the cup lol).
But that Liverpool team back then was a beast for a while, and I also fondly remember.. ahem.. his Valencia.
But I would not expect him to do better in La Liga than Carlo tbh
I think Carlo deserves to have another go.

This is what happens when you go through 4 managers per Year. You kinda run out of options.

Perez : 'We will work non-stop to win the eleventh (CL)'
I suppose they're looking to swap one cup specialist for another as the league apparently doesnt seem as much of interest to them.
