Re: CL SF : Real Madrid Vs Juventus
I'll start. At full strength I said Madrid were favourites (that is with the 442 Isco-Kroos-Modric-Hames and CR and Benz up front). I said the only challenge they faced was Atletico, which they passed. That said, this is a better tie for Juve than it is for Madrid. Madrid are still favourites and should go through but they are more there for the taking now. I think Madrid would have preferred to draw Bayern as I feel that they could have giving them a bigger hiding than last year, but I still think they should beat Juve. Keeping Madrid out for 180 minutes is very difficult. Madrid are clear favourites but then again, in 2003, I said the same thing and Juve pulled off a shock against a much better Madrid side that played one of the best football matches I have still ever seen in my life in that first leg.

Re: CL SF : Real Madrid Vs Juventus
Juventus should put naked Ogbonna and Evra in Real's dressing room, before they come in they turn the lights off, they put some buddha bar music that is usually played in Erotic massage places, when they open the door Ogbo and Patrick should start slowly dancing towards the players and salut them while constantly staring into their eyes without blinking, after they leave the dressing room and turn the lights on Padoin will come out eating a banana and stare only at Ronaldo and smile before closing the door behind him.
This will shake Madrid players and make their knees pretty weak.
also at Varane > Bonucci

His talent is, not so sure his hype matches his performances tho tbh.

Well according to most experts Ramos is the best in the world and Varane is better by a huge distance. He's actually much better than you give him credit for. Still not WC, but it'll come once he's more experienced. One of the fastest CBs I've ever seen at least

Yeah and i'm fine with that, as you well know i don't rate Ramos that highly either
Pepe is your best CB IMO.

Noh, it's true.
GoalLegacers can argue about the order of top 15 forwards in the world, but you guys would still be able to find at least (possibly more) 15 world class forwards or even midfielders.
On the other hand, every CB who at some point has been considered world class, is regarded as "rubbish" by an important amount of posters. Examples aplenty: Pique, Ramos, Pepe, Mangala, Kompany, Koscielny, Boateng, Varane, etc.

Re: CL SF : Real Madrid Vs Juventus
They have all been rubbish at some point in time, you seem scared to criticize tbh.
There's a difference between giving constructive criticism at a player of where he needs to improve to reach the level he's believed to be capable of and believing he's rubbish.

Only since 2000. Before then the great defenders were all GOAT and kept clean sheets all by themselves, especially if they were Italian.free_cat wrote:According to GL all CB's are shit.

Re: CL SF : Real Madrid Vs Juventus
are you guys seriously implying that the quality of CB's didn't decline over the past decade ?
for a small sample ,just take the starting CB's of the top 10 football national teams in the world and compare them with their counterparts from the late 90's and early 00's .

Re: CL SF : Real Madrid Vs Juventus
Actually the opposite, the quality of the CB has gone up. There are tens of current CB that have the long balls of Koeman or the speed of Maldini.
However, the attacking players have improved drastically. Just compare one of the best 90's forward, Stoitchkov, who is not better than current Pedro.

Pepe is our best by a huge margin. Definitely WC, he just gets a lot of shit from pundits across the world because they seem to think he's a liability. Kind of a funny argument considering Ramos is the biggest liability in football history when it comes to getting sent off, yet that doesn't apply to him. Pepe is extremely clean except when he loses his temper once every 18 months

Re: CL SF : Real Madrid Vs Juventus
but speed and long balls aren't exactly the number one criteria you're looking for in a defender .
Nesta with shot knees and diminished reflexes was still able to boss a prime messi and victimize him with clean tackles from behind that you don't see very often these days from so called world class defenders .

First, Nesta barely bossed Messi. He had one good game, and we still knocked you out.
Secondly, Nesta is a 2000's CB

lol at " you " .
the point is that an older, washed up defender who lost most of his athletic ability was able to handle prime Messi better than the new breed of CB's .
Nesta made his debut in 1993 ,he's part of the last great generation of Cb's .
it's not like i didn't include the early 2000's in that era, that's when Nesta was in his prime .
