Not surprised. Norway was always the black sheep in Scandinavia.

Kane
He could have had a penalty but didn't fall to continue the play and try to score.
Went to a corner and England equalized from it. Dier (I think) 1-1.

Brazil just ruining Colombia's dreams for the sake of it. Really hard fought game so far. Chile 0-1 in La Paz as well. Argentina getting a much needed lifeline for when they lose to Venezuela in a couple of hours

Yeah, pretty hard game but that goal was lovely. Here's to hoping Venezuela can take some points from Argentina...

Re: World Cup 2018 Qualifiers Discussion
It's been almost 35 fricking years since we were in the world cup and we are so damn close.
Props to my bellow Bolivian and Venezuelan brothers taking care of overrated teams like Chile and Argentina. Now both of them finds themselves in big trouble to not make the world cup, while Peru took advantage and are now 4th.
Winning against Argentina is unheard of, but I am extremely confident we will get the draw if the referee is fair and not brought out so Messi doesn't miss the world cup and costs FIFA millions in dollars and viewers. (Yes my fellow Argentines, we are still salty about 2009 when Palermo was offside )
We will miss 4 key players but Gareca has proven time and time again that we have workhorses at our disposal. No Ramos? Araujo, Callens or Zambrano will step up. No Cueva? We have Bundesliga legend Jefferson Farfan. No Carrillo? Real Madrid Castilla legend Benavente will take over. No Hurtado? Inter legend Andy polo will take over.
Overly excited on the work Gareca has done. The world still underrates us, and that's okay. The world will know us when we march into Buenos Aires and win. Or a bit realistically, a draw that will help us qualify when we defeat Colombia in Lima.
It's been too damn long. And we will make history.

Re: World Cup 2018 Qualifiers Discussion
TBH, as a neutral when South America is concerned, I really think a couple upsets would do the continental football some good, shake it up a little, make a few FAs rethink their course.
I don't want to step on toes, but in recent years when watching Argentina, you had to try really hard to find joy in the great players they have, because they usually also play tremendously unfair and are really hard to watch. Same goes for Uruguay, whose suckiness we all briefly forgot for that two years between the 2009 and 2011 seasons when we all liked Diego Forlan...
Maybe concentrating on actually winning your matches instead of turning every pitch into an impromptu war-zone will do some good.
Then again, who am I to speak, most Germany fans would probably fare well with a few slices of humble pie as well, so it would probably help if we went out at the groups for once. Not happening though, unless I've just jinxed it.
France though.
They look great.

Re: World Cup 2018 Qualifiers Discussion
You have a point with Argentina where they REALLY need to get their superstars to play as they would enjoy doing so. With Uruguay is different. This is their football heritage. They have always overperformed because of it. They wouldn't be half as successful if not for it. Their team rarely has more talent than Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia yet they always bring it up to everyone.

Its incredible to watch Venezuela play now and think back to how bad our football used to be. If the federation didn't screw up so bad we should have been fighting for a qualifying spot.

Romero; Acuna, Otamendi ,Mascherano, Mercado; Biglia, Banega; Papu, Messi, Di Maria; Benedetto
Sampaoli with that extreme hipster choice of playing Benedetto at striker over Icardi, Dybala or Higuain.
