Perhaps the only reason we extended Comedy Kolo was our EL campaign (if we make it through the qual). He will be easy to send to those Thursday night games while Skrtel and Sakho can chill. But even then I would have preferred Coates or Ilori for that role, but oh well, it's not a major thing.

Wisdom, the only way I see him featuring for us next season is if we play three at the back. He's not a better full-back than Manquillo or Flanagan, so he's definitely not at the club for that purpose.

Nothing can justify extending his contract. If we are considering extended schedule, we may as well field some 18-year old; cause that's exactly how good Toure is.

Yeah but an 18 year old doesn't bring the experience and presence that Toure brings. People really undervalue this as a whole in most sports. Just look at the Edmonton Oilers if you really want to see what taking away all the veteran presence and insulation can do to the mentality of a team no matter how many incredibly talented young players there are.

Keeping Toure is fine. I also agree that Can should be moved to midfield which is why we should be holding on to Coates and Ilori as well. With Sakho, Skrtel, Lovren, Toure, Coates/Ilori and Wisdom we will be just fine with CB capable players and with Gerrard leaving, and likely Lucas being used in a reduced role we're going to be just fine for getting Can reps in midfield I would think.

Again, we can buy basically every 'mediocre' player under the sun from Milner to Ings to Song to Bolasie to Williams but at the end of the day that is not what is going to drastically change our season. This summer will really hinge on the type of goal scorers we bring in.

If you compare anyone to Agger, you compare him to his successor, the one we spunked 20m on. The one who's the "first" back up; also known as the 3rd defender.

Kolo is there as a 4th, potentially 5th back up. There's nothing wrong with him signing. Again, the work he does off the field is worth it. He's getting paid peanuts.

So rumours about Clyne going around now. Between 10 and 15m. I would be very ok with that; happy in fact. He's quite a good RB a position we need to fill.

60k a week for someone who does nothing on the field, might ask ayre to top up my wages.

I feel 10k a week will do if i come in and give a motivational speech here and there.

The Agger comparison is only there because Agger can do more off the field than kolo, he would of stayed if he was 3rd or 4th choice, it's Rodgers who kicked him out and made him feel not wanted at the club.

The whole first team excuse is rubbish. No one stays when there manager doesn't talk to them for months on end.

His initial contract was 35k, from all reports he's just extended it. 35k is nothing.

And Agger WANTED first team AND disliked Rodgers. He was never going to stay.

Also why ask for 10k? Rodgers gets paid 80 and cant even do a motivational speech, you might want to find yourself an agent.

- The Guardian saying Southampton rejected a £10m offer from us for Clyne.

- I haven't seen reliable midfielder rumours yet.

- I wonder what's going to happen with the players who were out on loan: Ilori, Coates, Aspas (or is he bought?), Alberto, Teixeira.

Clyne rumors are allover the internet. Times, Telegraph, Guardian etc. and also from the most reliable of our journalists. Barrett also suggested LFC would go back with a better bid.

I think we have gone total nuts. First Toure and now all theae players we are being linked with. That justification for Toure off field things, better to employ a clown there at the club I would better have a youngster who is hungey and wants to prove himself when he gets opportunities. It's just our usual haggling over deals. . . same seems to be the case for Kovacic, but that is coming from the Italian media so nothing much there.
