Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
As I said, I'm not at all convinced he is a "can't miss" talent. Just about everything you've said was previously said of Ryan Babel and/or Eljero Elia, to use purely Dutch (and Eredivisie) examples. I have never thought of Depay solely as a winger, much less a winger that relies purely on pace. But then I never thought of Babel as such either, discussions of him as a player always centered around his shooting ability and power alongside the more typical creative ability (crosses, passes, dribbling, etc), and potential to possibly operate as a CF as well as his time as a wider attacker.
While Elia did fall into that more typical winger role you speak of, even he was described of as "much more" than simply a speedy winger.
Fair or not, whenever I look at Depay I will see the specters of those two and others like them, at least until such a time as Depay proves he is not their successor. In the meantime, he's neither a necessity positionally, a proven and developed top talent, nor a "can't miss" up-and-comer in my view.

PSV Eindhoven’s Memphis Depay is their No 1 target and the Holland international seems keen on moving to Anfield. (Dominic King)

IF he arrives I'll be as excited as anyone (well, within reason) and he'll have my full support and well-wishes, but my opinion on the matter and the player stands.

Well i presume it would be another Mkhitaryan/Costa/Sanchez/Wilian/Salah type saga

We've been down this road too many times.
I'm not going to believe anything until Memphis is leaning at Melwood.

They need to not stall at negotiations. That's the bottom line. Get the fee and don't squabble over minor details. I don't think I've ever been as excited about the signing of a budding player before so don't disappoint me.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
We are definitely going to need a GK, RB, CM and ST if we are aiming for T4 next season. However, importance of all these are definitely not same either. If I'm to rank these positions in terms of their respective share of investments,
1. ST: Spend whatever it takes to get a proven striker.
2. RB: Need an experienced player as other L/RB options are quite young.
3. GK: A young prodigy or a veteran, whichever costs less
4. CM: Seems like a luxury, but I fancy someone better than Emre-Lucas-Allen for starting spot.

One of my major concerns regarding this kid.RO wrote:Fair or not, whenever I look at Depay I will see the specters of those two and others like them, at least until such a time as Depay proves he is not their successor. 2. El Cujo is propagating that Depay can be converted to a striker with great effect (and seemingly without much effort). This is assumption or wishful thinking. He may turn into a great striker, but he may not just as well. We don't have ANY margin for error when it comes to getting a striker.
3. We have far too many Young, Potent and UNPROVEN players in our ranks.

He predominately WAS though.
He had ultimate freedom in the final third where he liked to cut in from the right but he was pretty much playing Dennis Bergkamp's position at Ajax...

I never had that opinion in terms of Ayre's negotiating skills but his marketing skills are a different discussion. Stop making up stuff.

Just stop. He was not a 10 at all. A winger or a striker with freedom to roam is not a 10. He played the wing as an inside forward or as a striker. Just because he has good link up play and work ethic doesn't mean he was playing as a 10...which he wasn't, and nobody in Holland will agree with you. You are confusing real life with how you used Suarez in FM at the time...try actually watching in the future (here, I will help you: https://www.ngsn.com/)!
But I like that you backpedal to saying he came in from the right now though.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
For me I think this would be good after the summer. It is a strong starting XI with a lot of depth. Sturridge (maybe), Origi, Ibe, Lallana, Markovic, Allen, Lucas, Can, Skrtel, etc. We would just need to bring up a keeper and someone to deputize for the fullbacks as well, but it keeps the same basic core together while inserting only some really great talents in to improve the starting XI without unsettling it too much. Though if Sterling goes (potentially to fund some of the buys) Lallana can also slot in as a starter on the right with no issues, especially since he isn't one footed like little Raheem.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Why ignore RB? Especially when you're throwing money at a role that Can seems more than capable of covering and arguably even suited to.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Well no concrete knowledge about Wisdoms RB skills but if he doesnt have any future as RB, I would still keep him because we have Skrtel, Lovren, Sakho and Illori. We would also have Can to fill in whenever needed. But I would never use Can after this season in defense. So may be we can keep Wisdom for one more season.
Striker is a must. I think we can survive without CM.

Liverpool Echo - LFC Open Contract Talks with Brad Jones

Guess those at the club have changed their mind on signing a keeper to compete with Mignolet this summer.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I wouldn't mind Kolo or Jones staying another season to be honest... Kolo still has something to offer the side and if Jones staying means we have an extra £10m to put toward a CF rather than a (almost certainly) 2nd choice goalkeeper that seems a worthwhile tradeoff for now.
