If he goes there NOW, he's going to have consistency issues and get a lot of flak from the media and fans as a result. I'm sure of it.

Doesn't and hasn't that happened to every Real Madrid signing?
I've never seen a player who isn't openly hated by at least a small segment of their own fans before

The club definitely has their own way of doing things, let's just say

Not every signing though. For example Ozil was loved by their fans. But probably the expectations were lesser so that helped.

Pogba will be going there as their galactico AND the most expensive player in the world. I'm expecting a mediocre first season from him if he decides to go there NOW. Right now imo is not the ideal time for him to make that switch to Real Madrid. He's incredibly overhyped right now.

I agree he's not ready but in any case, he's never going to merit that price tag on football alone, he merits it based on marketing. The hype actually helps both him and Juventus right now, if he wants to move, there isn't a better time to sell.

Add on an international tournament where people can see the odd flick, shit, Drake posted a picture wearing a Pogba jersey, that probably added 20M (Juventus on Instagram even re-posted it, thanks champagnepapi).

Why wouldn't he go? It's his profession. He's going to make a portion of the massive transfer fee + he's going to make one of the top wages in the world + his marketing income is going to maximize as well.

The idea is to go the best organization possible, for the best wages possible as early as possible... that's why every single one of us goes to work. Why should a footballer be any different?

No footballer is ever going to refuse this kind of offer... not a single one.

This "he should wait a year", "he's not ready", etc. is just garbage talk that fans get into. It has no basis in reality for a professional player.

I would too but the thing is clubs will know that we've got 120 ready to spend and they will ask for their players way more than they would otherwise, so I don't think we would buy more than a couple of top quality players even with 120m

A player with few, rare even, scattered moments of brilliance spattered over pointless flashiness, inconsistency and subpar performances.

For a ground-breaking sum like that I would expect somebody like Ronaldo, not a raw, unproven, insanely overhyped player with questionable professionalism, delusional tendencies and baseless greed.

If people have problems with Isco dr byibbling too much and getting dispossessed then I can only imagine what kind of reaction Pogba will get .

Its too big a sum but Pogba's marketing appeal alone is a huge factor in trying to hold on to him as tight as possible. His hype is Neymar level right now.

I was worried at first because I thought we had started the negotiations, and we all know what usually happens when Perez starts those. But now that we've learned it's all just talk, and that we're not the only club talking with them, I can relax a bit.

Let's hope we back out very quickly and go after better targets.

I think you're being far too harsh on Pogba, which is an understandable emotion given the hype, but is eventually just the other side of the hype coin.

Pogba is legit IMO, a true top player in the making. Not more and not less.
I can understand why you#d want to go against the grain and hate a bit if a player is hyped like that, I do and did it too, but in the end with a player like Pogba, the only thing that makes sense is to ignore the media hype and still appreciate what a spectacular player the kid in fact is.

If we can't enjoy a kid like Pogba playing some beautiful, spectacular, even if maybe inconsistent, football, we've let all the noise around the sport spoil our perception IMO.

Noise which to a large extent does come from Pogba#s own agent though.
I've thought about it too, whether Raiola's approach of maximum media obnoxiousness does right by his clients.
In a way, it certainly does, but I'm not completely convinced.

Whether you want Pogba at Real, how much should be paid or not, whether he's a fit, etc pp, are different stories.

Not been watching the Euros but Pogba's been fantastic all season and even against Bayern he was fantastic.

No idea why people still criticize him.
