Liverpool XI vs. Aston Villa: Mignolet; Can, Skrtel, Sakho; Moreno, Lucas, Henderson, Markovic, Coutinho; Sterling, Borini.
ffs BR, Borini starts again.
I like the subs a lot.
Ward, Enrique, Lambert, Manquillo, Lallana, Ibe, Williams

Guzan, Hutton, Okore, Baker, Cissokho, Sanchez, Westwood, Delph, Cleverley, Agbonlahor, Benteke
Art, thoughts on the line up? Doesnt it look too cautious line up like just to frustrate us and not allow much space for Coutinho and Sterling

Re: Aston Villa vs. Liverpool
their midfield, I have no idea who is the creative one in that midfield. For me all seem to be like tough EPL midfielders but lets see if they dominate the midfield.
I think that is Jordan Williams, the midfielder from academy...seems like BR is introducing them just to motivate the academy players, first Rossiter on the bench and now Williams

Re: Aston Villa vs. Liverpool
Decent first-half. Missed the goal. Raheem missed an easy one. Defense as usual gives jitters. Must put the game to bed by hour mark.

Re: Aston Villa vs. Liverpool
Well in Borini, he played well in the first half.
Were doing good so far but we need to score more to kill this game, sterling missed a siter, his brain's still in Jamaica.
Sahko has to be the most un-co person in the world, how his managed to become a footballer is beyond me, the fact that his actually good just trips me the *bleep* out. When he goes in for a tackle, you think his going to give away a foul every time, but then he does a near perfect challenge.

Re: Aston Villa vs. Liverpool
I think we are playing well. Our defenders are also defending good against Benteke and Agbonlahor (I needed 5 minutes to think and 2 minutes to type it ). Sterling is still on the beach, every now and they lying the grass there. Borini could have at least hit the target with the chance he had. Hendo as always making good runs and wonderful cross that was.

So I'm an authority on PL teams' line-ups now? x)
Yeah, you don't have to be me to tell that that midfield of Villa was put there to take space away in the middle of the park. Lambert has probably thought, perhaps rightly, that we don't use much width in this 3-4-3 and he's looked to flood the center. I wouldn't say it has exactly worked, although...
... it was a pretty even first-half. We're leading, though, and have the steering wheel. Should punish them again now that they are going to have to attack in the second-half.
Sterling's finishing is still abysmal at times. What a half-hearted chipped effort when clean through. Guzan saw it coming from Raheem's body and feet position all the way. I hope Sturridge would give Sterling some lessons in finishing.

Re: Aston Villa vs. Liverpool
True words by Mr69 indeed.
Sakho would probably be the most entertaining CB to watch in the PL - if he didn't play for us. Now he only makes the top-5.

Re: Aston Villa vs. Liverpool
Tbh, the move to the goal, did result because we could use the width because of Markovic. So are playing attacking wise really intelligent.

I think we are really mobile when Gerrard is not playing and I like it that no has got to hide under his shadow now !!

Re: Aston Villa vs. Liverpool
I don't know about mobile, we're creating so little. Villa are putting a lot of pressure on us right now (68th minute).

We have two strikers
They both score the goals in the same match

I know
Lambert's goal was class, though, none of the LFC players on the pitch would have been capable of the same. Because that was a goalscorer's goal.

Re: Aston Villa vs. Liverpool
Okay 3 points, well in boys.
but let's just say if we vsed a team capable in front of goals we might of been 1-1 at one stage, but then again if we were capable we could of been 2-0 or 3-0 up.

Re: Aston Villa vs. Liverpool
Mignolet made a couple of good saves. Not that he looked convincing throughout the game, but made a couple of good saves.
Lambert's goal was class. Right at the post.
Ibe looked like he's ready to play in this companion. Such a shame he's cup-tied.
Not a dominating performance, but those three points sure taste sweet
