I'm one of Mert's biggest fans but even I wonder where his balls have gone this season.

Re: Liverpool 2 - 2 Arsenal
already after Everton away early in season thought Chambers-per isn't suitable combo to work together
good decision by Arsene there
Giroud is back from long term injury so still cant complete 90 mins with reminder of schedule in mind
points already mentioned about space vs back 3 and usage of wide men and no DM being able covering that space
proper top class #10 would have destroyed us in that zone

Re: Liverpool 2 - 2 Arsenal
How much more backwards can we go?
Some facts about the game:
Arsenal faced more shots (27) on Sunday than they have in any other Premier League game for 11 years.
Alexis Sanchez won more tackles (3) against Liverpool than Mathieu Debuchy, Per Mertesacker, Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs combined (1).
Arsenal's 35 per cent share of possession at Anfield was their lowest since Opta began gathering stats 11 years ago.
The north London club have managed just one win against the Premier League's top seven sides since last Christmas. The full record reads: D L D L D W L D L D D D L L D.
Arsenal have not won an away game in which they have conceded since January (when they claimed a 2-1 victory against Aston Villa).

Last season you got hammered. I fail to see how a draw is going backwards.

Well, last year this time Arsenal first place, now tied for 7th place. I guess we not seeing the same thing?

Last year when you were first the appropriate attitude too was to remember that the only thing that matters is which place you're in at the end of the season.
To reach 4th now you'd have to gain 4 points on West Ham and Southhampton. You reckon that's doable?
And last season too you lost that 1st spot pretty quickly after Ramsey, Koscielny and then Özil got injured.

Re: Liverpool 2 - 2 Arsenal
Guys I have reached a zen state overnight, aware of our flaws, optimistic about our strengths.
Here is what my enhanced consciousness tells me:
Expect no big signings in January. With injured players coming back ... Arsenal are going to have one more horrifying result in the next couple weeks, and then the guys will turn it around, finish strong, get to the CL semis & a respectable 3rd in the table behind Chelsea/Man City.

The good news is Mert is not happy with his performacne and is looking forward Dec 26 game.
What a legend, he is not afraid to play another game.
“Overall we have to take responsibility for our game - we want to dictate but we were on always on the back foot. I’m not really pleased with the performance but we take the point now and we’re looking forward to December 26.

Last season they had Suarez. This season they have nobody. If Suarez was still there imagine what the score would have been.

Re: Liverpool 2 - 2 Arsenal
Yes we lost and would have with just about anyone they could have put on the pitch.
Just saying that the difference between getting hammered last season and 2 - 2 against a 10 man tactically superior team was Suarez. From what I remember, if they still had Suarez the score would have been worse than last year. Mostly since we look half the team.

AW on the corner at Anfield: "It is more organisational and collective problem because nobody really talks. We work on it."
AW: "Usually we’re not bad on set-pieces. We were not quickly enough organized but the results was a fair result and not a disaster." wrote:

Mertesacker: “When you compare to last year, this is a much better result.”
Szczesny: “Sterling is a great player. He’s one of the big English talents to have come through in the last few years. I’m a big fan of Raheem’s - he’s very sharp and he’s very strong as well.
“He scores goals, he gets assists and he’s only 20 years of age. He’s doing an amazing job for the club and for the country as well so I’m a big fan of his.”
Oxlade-Chamberlain: “It’s really disappointing for us. I don’t think we played that well today, but sometimes you need to win those games when you don’t play well, especially away from home at a hard place at Anfield."
Wenger: "We conceded a corner that was a bit unlucky and where we were guilty was that we didn’t jump at all with Martin Skrtel. Of course from then on we conceded so it became 2-2. Overall it’s a fair result over the whole 90 minutes, but it’s a frustrating result for us"
Flamini: “The most important thing is to recover well and be ready for the next game. In probably 10 days, we have three or four games so it is going to be a lot. We have to recover well for the next game and if we are ready, it will be fine.”
Our players are growing to be losers under the biggest loser. We need a new manager ASAP or our new manager will need a new team in a couple of years instead of a bunch of losers who accept mediocrity.

Re: Liverpool 2 - 2 Arsenal
‘Mertesacker gives his best,’ said Wenger. ‘Many people had a go at him for the corner but he had no chance to get that ball in the zone where he was. I don’t know why he ducked. Maybe he sees he hasn’t got the ball and somebody jumps over him and it’s a reflex.
So Wenger knows he had no chance but does not know why he ducked?
on set-pieces, We have one of the best records from in the league. Maybe they do talk but it doesn’t look like that when you see the pictures.
We do?
