Should go for Clyne only if theres no one else who is better/equal, thats how I feel or of course if others too come for him, then we should.

Don't care about Soton, their fans chanted Shaw is a waste of money when he went off at the OT match. He's one of their own ffs, imagine our fans singing that about Welbeck. Clyne has a year left on his contract, sign him. I believe Rafael is better, but it's better this way. If Rafael can prove his fitness then he can become a starter again, if he doesn't prove his fitness, well we will have Clyne. Same with Smalling and CB situation.

He's defensivly suspect imo, but he's an attacking beast.

On another note, I forgot to mention it before, I don't know if it's still true, but a few weeks back I saw a stat saying Shaw has played the least mins out of all our defenders. We really need to fix our injury problem (it looks like we've started to, though).

the fact Blind knows how to move when a ball is at his feet makes him better then Carrick.

Does anyone apart from me feel Phil Jones is not United quality ?
We have been giving him leeway every time all these years and the kind of football he plays, its borderline crappy. No positional sense, no composure under pressure, no vision to pull off long balls. The only good thing is his tackling, which itself says a lot about his positioning and other areas of football. He misses players and commits to last ditch tackles which comes off more often than not. But he has cost the team a lot of spot kicks last seasons as well if i recollect. The opposition players dont care when he runs with the ball as if they know he is a joke and have no worries of him doing anything with it.
Smalling as a CB is miles better than him.
Jones might be a decent DM or RB but as a CB each time i see him, its unconvincing.

To think SAF even boasted him as having the potential to be the greatest united player ever.

Yeah, I think RED was the first to say it, I came round to it a little while ago, Smalling is our best defender. Apart from last ditch tacking, which, fwiw is fantastic, the other areas of Jones' game are lacking.

He's regressed sinced we signed him. When at Blackburn, he looked a very good prospect, in the mould of a Terry or Vidic.

Looks a shadow of that player now. Perhaps constant injuries and the fact SAF played him all over the place hampered his progression, but as of now, looks far off the leadership qualities we had hoped he'd bring to us.

Rojo and Smalling should be our starters. Worrying thing is, LVG seems to have lost hope or has doubts over Smalling, so we're gonna have to make due with Jones.

Rojo has really turned in to a great signing, our best defender all season so far
