He was his usual invisible timid self today. Away from OT, he's nothing more than a passenger. Cleverely the latin version.
It's not just away, RED, his style of play there is no mid area, it's either shit or good. You know against Chelsea he did the same exact pass to Di Maria as he did to RVP vs Liverpool. Difference? This time RvP scored, but Di Maria missed. He also had a great chance vs Chelsea where he was totally unmarked. Difference? He missed vs Chelsea, but scored vs Liverpool. It's too much of a drastic difference, game to game if you only rely on your stats. He frustrates me more than Valencia and that's some doing.

I agree. The guy has been a disappointment. My main gripe with him is that he always tends to take the safe options, rather than take risks. Plays it too safe. He needs to man up and stop playing like a coward.

yea mata is a clear eyesore at the moment. Especially when herrera aint there in the lineup to link up with him. I havent once seen him lately attempting a through ball. The sideways passes to one of the overlapping full backs or any random player standing near him. Its too hard to not notice and ignore. Wasting a spot.

I don't know what it is, can't be bothered to watch full matches, so gonna check out his individual match comps at Chelsea and see what the difference is.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
so with games so close boxing day and sunday what kind of line up do you expect vs newcastle? Here is my take on the coming week
I could see Falcao being rested with a tougher game vs Spurs on sunday and him just regaining full fitness...might even see him come on as a early sub if we are up on newcastle to rest Rooney or RVP for Sunday, could see Wilson coming on too to do the same.
get Shaw back in there even tho i thought Young was decent vs Villa
Rafael too rather have him coming in at home vs Newcastle then away vs Spurs for his first game back.
Mata is just in there because I think Van Gaal will want Rooney, RVP, Falcao all in there vs Spurs so he won't be playing all 3 at the same time vs Newcastle
would like to see Smalling-Rojo re united vs Spurs
DDG
Rafael-Jones-Blackett-Shaw
Carrick
Herrera-Di Maria
Mata
RVP-Rooney
dropped evans because he's shite and blackett looked decent when he came on, looks a bit bigger too been in the gym it appears.Rafael-Jones-Blackett-Shaw
Carrick
Herrera-Di Maria
Mata
RVP-Rooney

Our game vs Spurs is on Sunday, only two days after Newcastle, there really should be rules against that. I hope Van Gaal rotates or we might pick injuries. I think the only attacker that should play both games is Rooney because he's captain.

Not only that, the Spurs match is a 12pm kick-off too.smh. Vital we get players back for the next two games, Rojo, Rafael, Shaw, Smalling, Herrera, Fellaini (just typing that out pisses me off at the extent of it)
Judging by how easily our players seem to break down with injuries, it's going to be testing.

Man United without Fellaini, Rojo, Shaw and Herrera for Boxing Day visit of Newcastle
Ridiculous. What are these mysterious injuries that players are picking up ffs for a sustained period of time. We know about Shaw, but what has happened to Fellaini, Rojo and Herrera to keep them out for atleast 2 weeks. Didnt seem so serious. We're gonna be on our bare limbs for the festive period by the looks of things. /rant

Can't wait til Blind is back, Carrick has become so overrated - he does shit all defensively. We didn't start winning because he came back.

The calmness and composure his brought to the side since his return can't be understated though.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Not like Blind is a bad passer though. However, I do wish he was more ambitious with his passing. We also struggle in possession irregardless of Carrick or not. It's the change of the formation that has dictated how well our passing has been not one single player imo. Carrick had a good game vs Hull, but lately he seems to be just 'there'. I think our DMs are a bit like Arsenals CFs, Welbeck and Giroud are good players but not good enough to be starters in the long-run. It's the same with Blind and Carrick. This is an unpopular opinion though, not many see it as a problem.

V Newcastle
United XI: De Gea, Jones, McNair, Evans, Valencia, Carrick, Rooney, Mata, Young, van Persie, Falcao.
United’s subs vs Newcastle: Lindegaard, Rafael, Smalling, Blackett, Fletcher, A.Pereira, Wilson
Starting 11 doesn't fill me with confidence at all. Just win ffs.

News coming out that ADM injured during training. Don't know what they're doing at training, but it's a clear issue that needs sorting out. The players can't seem to handle it.
Beyond a joke now.

Ashley Young has put some great crosses into the box. Rooney's late runs into the box have been good too, nice 2 goals. Falcao I just love this guy, and for Mata, his best half, some nice creative passes, continue with this please.

Comfortable half for United. No DiMaria on the bench though would've loved to see him against these lot.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Mata is a different type of beast at Old Trafford. I wish he can translate that form away from home. He's been superb and played 2 dangerous forward balls that unlocked NewC.
Falcao has been superb too. Involved in both goals. 4 assists and 2 goals in 5 starts. Fantastic return so far.
We looked shakey in the opening stages, but once the 1st goal went in, everything seemed to flow together.
Young has looked lively AGAIN, and is our most dangerous outlet atm. Has whipped some good crosses.
More of the same 2nd half please.

I think Mata is a player for counter attacks, when he has a lot of time to think about a pass is when he shines. When you pressurise him, or he's in tight areas, he's too weak and gets shoved off the ball.
