His performance was only missing a goal.

Tevez linked up with Messi nicely as soon as he was put in, kinda surprised at that. It was Messi's best chance of the night.

Thugruay 22 fouls to 3 yellows, Argentina 13 fouls to 3 yellows. Why do they allow Brazilian refs to associate football? Mad

Agüero was a selfish female's genital the entire night. Comparing it to the Barca frontline, what a difference. Probably didn't make a single pass to Messi.

Uruguay is very hard to beat, and recalls Neymar was shit against Chile and Colombia in the last world cup, decent against Mexico.

I don't really get what people expect out of Argentina / Messi in the Copa America?

This happens every single time this tournament rolls around.  I always just chalk it up to people don't watch South American football and they are just basically the European versions of Premfaces (BTW, not a shot at the poster I quoted)

I guess people just don't watch South American football.  It is light years different from the European game.  The refs are different, the style of play is different and last nights game was no exception.  Yes, the ref let a little too much rough play go on but it's normal.

Watch WC qualifying or whenever there is something on the line these countries play each other entirely too often, most of them don't particularly like each other (Especially Uruguay and Argentina) and the book on Argentina in South America is to foul early and often and the refs again let it go on.

There were 3-4 tackles yesterday that were basically straight reds in Europe and a yellow wasn't even shown.

You see that the runs Messi makes in Europe just do not fly in South America, they cut him down after he gets by the first or second defender because they know there is very little consequence in doing so.

I thought Argentina played well yesterday and were great in the first half of the Paraguay game.  So basically they have played 1 bad half in 2 games and are going to top there group while Messi not having really any creative force behind him is basically playing as a midfielder and playing well.  You can't expect him to score every game, he really isn't a forward.  Believe me, no European team wants to play Uruguay in South America either, it's a hard draw.

There's a reason South American teams have done extremely well in the world cup the last 2 cycles, it's because these teams are better than European fans think, they have players that are extremely talented that European fans don't know a lot about and they are battle tested by the time the World cup roles around.

This tournament is no cake walk, and Argentina are a flawed team.  I don't understand what most people thought was going to happen.  If you asked Argentina before the CA started they would happily take a draw and a win against Paraguay and Uruguay which basically ensures progression and probably topping there group.

Argentina were favorites to this tournament prior to the hiring of tata martinez.
I think that's why people expect more from them, but this guy is completely changing the style of play argentina had in the world cup, even the players don't take him seriously.
