Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
The guy next to him in the Liverpool jersey is Campino, singer of one of Germany's most popular rock bands and one of the most recognizable public figures, the one on the other hand Johannes B. Kerner, TV anchor and showmaster who used to host two of the main German sports shows, with Klopp being a pundit at the time IIRC, as well as one of the worst, most obnoxious talk shows in history of mankind.
I thought he was the worst person to ever have been on TV until he was demoted and his successor at the state TV station talk show turned out even more despicable.

There's also a fun little thing called the Premier League Short Term Cost Control, which prevents teams from increasing their wage bill by more than £7m unless they can prove they have other sources of income (e.g. CL money, player sales).
Liverpool are in a great position since they've just netted £80m+ from the Champions League and have another £30m or so on the way from qualifying for next year's competition. Add on what's left of Coutinho's transfer fee and they can make some really big signings this summer.
Arsenal and Chelsea, on the other hand, are going to have to be more creative.

He will not win any trophies this season. They will not make the CL final again.
Is a 2nd-3rd place finish enough for you Pool fans? curious. Not talking about Unique either. I know how he feels.

Back 4 is not shit at all. Most expensive CB in the world, best LB in the world, Gomez/Matip/Lovren competing. Only need to improve at RB. No excuses.

Back 4 was the best thing from Liverpool tonight. It was the midfield and attack that totally failed.

Well, its not good enough for the league title.
Getting 20m for Danny Ings next summer, hope we use it rather than depositing in some bank like the Coutinho money imo

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
For me, this is Klopp's biggest weakness: his inability to change tactically during the match when shit is going downhill. That includes his substitutions, which are horrendous. They are atrocious. In his earlier seasons you could say he doesn't have a bench so he doesn't need to use it much but this season he has no excuses. What's the point of having depth when you don't use it? Bringing Sturridge in last 3-5 mins in almost every match when our front 3 is out of form and Sturridge is averaging a goal every 45 mins? The same applies to Shaqiri who either gets little minutes or doesn't even feature. Klopp is stubborn in some things, he doesn't like to change. He would play with the same 11 players all season if he could. He literally brought our only in form attacker in the 89th minute against Napoli, you have to be delusional to think Sturridge will repeat what he did to Chelsea in 1 minute, and he didn't even bring Shaqiri in, both deserved to be starting ahead of our front 3 right now. He needs to be giving impact subs at least 20-30 mins per game and he either gives them like 3 mins or no minutes at all lmao. In the Napoli game he didn't tell our fullbacks to stop bombing forward and tell them to track back along with wingers because we were getting bulldozed on the flanks and our fullbacks and wingers weren't doing anything in the attack either so it was pointless leaving all that space, and they never once changed, that shit went on the whole match, Klopp persisted with the same tactic the whole match despite it failing for all 90 minutes.
If it wasn't for Gomez' brilliance who was saving our ass all game we would have conceded more against Napoli. What a player he is, our best player along with Van Dijk this season imo.
Also, we really miss Ox, that is a huge miss. Now with Keita injured (not confirmed yet though) we don't have a midfielder that can link with attack. Should've went for Fekir or any CAM.

Well, he was in NO EXCUSES territory before the season
so let's hear your excuses for why they're basically out of 2/4 competitions 3 months into the season @ Klopp advocates.
They'll never win anything under this fraud. He was hard carried by a Salah who was playing above his level last season. Klopp's a tactical numpty. Ship him back to Bundesfodder.

He needs to sort out the attack. Salah and Firmino have been average all season long. Whether that's down to opposition teams being more wary of them or their motivation or form or fatigue... he needs to sort it out. Firmino has played 9 times as much as Sturridge in the Prem this season but has only one more goal than Sturridge. You can't keep the same forwards and same tactics if they've been figured out.

The problem is the midfield. The new signings are not getting a look in and the ox Is injured so we are left with the same mf problems we had when klopp first came 3 years ago. But it took the guy 2 years to replace Moreno so we know he likes to waste time doing things. We will just have to give him another 2 years to get the ox fit and get the new signings into the team.

But is anyone expecting them to win anything? I feel like top 2 is the best they can hope for and they're there. The team is playing well above it's potential in the league.
That being said, eliminated in the CL group stages
Deserves to be mercilessly criticized for this

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
Being eliminated from a group with Napoli and PSG really isn't that bad, though. And this is assuming Liverpool don't beat Napoli at Anfield by the required scoreline to qualify, which they're capable of doing.
In any case, a lack of trophies shouldn't be a stick to beat Klopp with. Take it from me: winning FA Cups is nice and all, but it does nothing to quell expectations for something bigger and doesn't turn your team into winners all of a sudden.
The Champions League isn't a realistic target, and in the Premier League they're up against a freakishly good Manchester City team (who they're doing well to keep up with, but City are as good in defence and much better in attack so will likely pull away eventually). The fact Liverpool are even in the discussion now shows the work Klopp has done.
That's not to say there aren't issues with his side at the moment, but let's not forget the context behind all this.

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
Klopp has his flaws I criticize him for, it's mainly his stubbornes with some players but to call him a fraud if he doesn't win the league versus this City team is laughable. I wouldn't call a fraud a guy who reached 2 CL finals with underdog teams and won 2 back to back Bundesliga titles against a Bayern team that played 3 out of 4 CL finals in those years.

He should be spanked for that midfield but I don't blame him for knowing two him two years, he would play a midfield of Adam-Allen-Poulsen if they gave him the feeling of proving themselves. He trusts lads who give it their all in training.
Anyways we are still unbeaten in the league and its December ffs. CL anyways we aren't good enough.

No link to midfield so Firmino dropping too deep leaving Salah alone upfront against 3 defenders and Mane being too wide. 90% times Salah is alone with his back against 2 defenders.
Ox will turn it around. We need that midfield link where Firmino gets a free role rather being out of position for every attack.

Mole used to talk about this often, teams are way more prepared for Liverpool now. Last season they were new electric, most teams had no solutions. Now they have tapes on Liverpool, and they are way more prepared to defend them as a team and to limit how much space they leave for Salah to run into.

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
Klopp's approach to CL away matches this season so far has been Moyes-esque.
Last season, only out of pure necessity and many injuries, we had to use the damned Henderson-Gini-Milner midfield trio. It was never meant to be a viable option...yet Klopp now sees it as a genuine midfield option.
It doesn't protect and it doesn't create.
If we manage to get out of the group...hope Klopp reflects on this before Knock-outs, or else we're going out to the first decent side anyways
