Liverpool vs Real Madrid

Expecting a win but who knows, Anfield is a special place.

Over the past 5 years (?) our best performance against the 'big' teams in Europe away came last year against Bayern.
Before that, it was probably our loss to Bayern (2-1) or the (1-1) against Barca.

But yh I share your frustration izzy. I wouldn't dwell on that thought too much though. We can't afford to think like that especially if we can create some distance between ourselves and the reds with whatever result. Big results will come naturally

Very lucky that Modric and Bale will miss out. Gives us a glimmer of hope. I don't rate Illara and Henderson/Allen can run down Kroos. If our pressing is on point like last season you guys will be surprised at the intensity of our play off the ball.

Carvajal needs to be fresh for Neymar. Believe it or not we have to get a win vs Barca to still have a chance at the league. Carlo has to make sacrifices. We can destroy Pool at the Bernabeu

Coentrao is injured. Marcelo will play and I think he'll be fine.

Arbeloa should also start, we'll just need a solid performance defensively from him and we'll be OK.

Depending on the squad list I expect our line up to be;

Really disappointed that Bale got injured, it would have given us much more options with rotation.

Kroos will definitely need a rest but I can see Carlo playing him instead of Illarra.

I could see arbeloa being replaced by carvajal early in the second half.
