QPR v Liverpool Empty QPR v Liverpool

Post by Art Morte Thu Oct 16, 2014 9:59 am

The int. break is over and we play on Sunday against the last-place QPR.

Hopefully Sturridge is fit enough to start or at least come on off the bench.
I don't know what's the injury situation with Sakho and Lovren, but QPR have scored just four in seven, so even Kolo should be good enough to play in this game.
Allen and Can are still out, I presume.

Should be interesting to see whether Manquillo or Johnson start at RB and does Coutinho keep his place over Markovic, but given the injury situation, the rest of the team pretty much chooses itself. I wouldn't mind seeing Enrique start, though.

QPR have got no stand-out players for this level and I don't see any area in their squad where they would be better than us or even match us, not even things like midfield tenacity or set-pieces, which are two areas where we don't rank that highly.

There are no easy away games, I suppose, but this is one of those games where a draw would feel almost like a defeat.

Easiest 3 points you will get all season. QPR are by far the worst team in the league atm.

Lovren, Markovic, Sturridge and Can are fit to play.

No sign of Allen.

Personally would go with

Mignolet
Manquillo - Skrtel - Lovren - Moreno
Gerrard
Hendo - Coutinho
Lallana
Mario - Sturridge

Give Raheem the much needed rest and let him start the Madrid match.

I'd start Johnson over Manquillo, but otherwise agree.

Confident of winning this still without Sturridge obviously.

But really all of my excitement for the next month has been drained upon hearing the news.

If Balotelli starts up top on his own and we don't look likely enough to score goals, I'd probably start Sterling as a striker in our next couple of games with Balotelli playing supporting striker.

^ Sterling should be rested.

Balotelli should be played next to Borini. Not sure why Fabio is getting so much hate / blame when he's hardly featured ffs. Yeah he's not the finished article, but he's only 21 ffs and he's the best next thing we have as of right now. We as a team play better with 2 strikers, and Mario thrives on having a striking partner next to him; he's not a CF.

Took Balo out of my team today, so he will score a brace.

Can thank me later....

Yes because we were so awesome against West Ham playing Fabio 'the definition of average' Borini next to Mario.

So, rest Sterling against QPR and play Balotelli up top, if that doesn't work out, in the next game play Sterling and Balotelli up top. Like McAgger, I have little faith in Borini (although in theory he could provide a little something that we need, but every time I've seen in the red shirt, he's just been underwhelming).

ONE GAME WHERE IT WASN'T EVEN HIS FAULT FFS

You were saying the same thing about Sterling against Hull last season.

I can't take you seriously anymore.

Not one youngster is going to perform straight away with no consistent football under his belt. Not one. They need a run of games.......

I am with RA on this...till Sturridge is out, we should play Baloelli with another striker, even Yesil would be fine for me. Ya al know what I am saying, I am just saying two strikers up front. So Borini is not a bad choice, Borini just needs little confidence and he is def not average. We should use it as an opportunity that we could not sell Borini so we should get maximum out of him till he is at the club.

No Moreno hmm probably just being rested for Madrid. Really happy to see Can starting.

Anyways that lineup could go either

Mignolet
Johnson - Skrtel - Lovren - Enrique
Gerrard
Hendo - Can
Lallana
Sterling - Balotelli

Or

Mignolet
Johnson - Skrtel - Lovren - Enrique
Hendo - Can
Sterling - Gerrard - Lallana
Balotelli

Replace Raheem with Lambert or Borini in your #1 lineup.

I'm happy to see Enrique get a start in the league, deserves it. Interesting to get a chance to see Can, too.

QPR are apparently going with a 5-3-2, should be interesting:

Isla - Onuoha - Dunne - Caulker - Suk-young
Fer - Henry - Sandro
Austin - Zamora

As if he went with that second lineup FML.

We were trash lucky not to be down 2-0 to last placed retirment home QPR, FML.

Sterling should be down the middle FFS, and balo needs to try and not shoot and think his going to be saviour every time he gets the ball.

Maaaaan, we're so bad it's getting funny x)

QPR should have at least a goal.

Balotelli having his worst Liverpool game yet. You just know every time he's got the ball outside the area, he's going for the shot.

Lallana and Sterling are having little impact, especially when it comes to collecting the ball and starting attacks. It's interesting to see Gerrard as CAM, but he, neither, is coming to collect the ball from Henderson and Can to get us creating something in attack.

I'd take Lallana off and bring Coutinho in and perhaps drop Gerrard back to DM to see if that helps us to be more fluid in attack.
