actually they do they have some of the lowest foriegn debt in the world ( 2% of GDP ) thanks to their oil and gas revenue .
the problem with algeria would be safety . just last month a player was murdered by a fan who threw a rock at him .
in fact ,algeria might be blacklisted from hosting the AFCON 2017 because of that incident .
I would like that too. But they don't have a dime .Algeria sounds nice.

Apparently Hans-Joachim Eckert will be making a statement over the bidding process for 2018 and 2022, anyone think anything will come out of this? I think it might have to do with the Garcia report.

Fifa should compensate Qatar as it was Fifa's fault to award it to them.
Qatar should compensate the workers as they were contracted with that job.
And all Fifa people that awarded it to Qatar should be punished.I would like that too. But they don't have a dime .Algeria sounds nice.
Algeria has basically all of europes oil and they don't have a dime read a book

Michael Garcia, who's report FIFA just summarised, has said it “contains numerous materially incomplete and erroneous representations of the facts" and that he "intends to appeal this decision to the FIFA Appeal Committee.”

Re: Top FIFA Official: 'The 2022 World Cup Will Not Take Place In Qatar'
Obvious answer to everyone except the Qatari and Aussies is the US.
1. US came in second, not sure What revisionist history that are being created. Australia came in LAST behind US, S.Korea, and Japan So if Qatar get it stripped it should rightfully go to the US.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_FIFA_World_Cup#Host_selection
2. TIME!! no one got time for 6am games. US time will be perfect for everyone that matters (Americas, Europe, Africa, Western Asia). late 3PM Eastern Time games in US is 3pm-11pm in most of S.America/Europe/Africa/W. Asia
3. "The 1994 World Cup broke the average attendance record with nearly 69,000, a feat that still stands today"
Better attendance than Football crazy countries like Brazil and Germany
4. Summer WC
5. Stadiums already in place
6. Soccer

in australia's case it will be 6 am in europe/africa , and past midnight in south america .
that's 90 % of the region in which football is the number one sport, not to mention the majority of the nations participating in the world cup itself .

In Summer I watch Footy.
In Winter I watch Footy.
In Germany I watch Footy.
In Qatar I'll watch Footy.
Doesn't matter to me when or where it will be held. I'm still watchin'.

Just Zwanziger's wishful thinking imho, guy's trying to be the non-evil FIFA exec, and while that's cute, he really doesn't stand a chance against all the corruption.

Yeah if it's not a problem why are you moving it to the winter. Don't make it out as if your country's bid comes down to only people not wanting to watch it in hot conditions.
The fact that you guys tried to go above and beyond to air con the stadium shows us it's massive problem that would be a problem for us guys.

Re: Top FIFA Official: 'The 2022 World Cup Will Not Take Place In Qatar'
So far, the dates aren't final. We don't know whether its going to be in Winter or Summer, or if even the leagues will allow that, despite what FIFA officials say.
Secondly, the air cons of stadiums aren't possible due to the pace of constructing stadiums, 3/8 are still at a preliminary state and the rest are still in the works. I don't know when they are completed or if its possible to install the air con in the stadiums in time.
Thirdly, why are you angry with me? Your tone suggests that i helped fund the Third Reich.
Yes Qatar has slave labour, yes its hot, the population is too small, there is no footballing culture (There is). By no means is it a perfect state, but is football not a global sport? Should it not be attainable by every country in the world? I realize that there might have been double-dealings and illegitimate pandering. But Is it so difficult to comprehend Qatar, whether it was the right or wrong choice that Qatar got the bid. Could it just be the bid committee put their hearts and souls, a limitless budget and all the PR experts out there behind this bid and simply gave it all?
By no means do i condone slave labor before anyone points fingers, thankfully the laws are changing, more conservative laws are fading.
Of course i will get a lot of flak, but this is the internet. Its nigh impossible to get people to change their views.
