Re: Loïc Rémy
Indeed. A 6-1 win over Everton would have been quite a message of intent to the rest of the League.

1-0. 2-1. 3-1. 6-1. 6-3.
All get you the same amount of points.

Re: Loïc Rémy
By the way, was the deal 8m or 10.5m? because I am seeing both reported.

Re: Loïc Rémy
In my figures in the Blue Box, I used 10.5. That's what Sky Sports and the BBC say.

Re: Loïc Rémy
It seems the more reliable sites, Guardian, BBC, Sky, are reporting 10.5m while Metro, DailyMail et al. are reporting 8m.
Either is a good price in today's market.

Precisely. 8 million, 10 million - who cares. It's a great deal, should he replicate his form up to this point.

I think Ba proved, even if he doesn't, we won't lose much on the transfer.

I'm confident he'll do turn out better than Ba.

Re: Loïc Rémy
As am I. He did just as well as Ba in a worse Newcastle team.
He also have a lot more pace, will be under less pressure to perform and is younger. All signs point to him being a quality signing.

“I spoke with him. He is very clever and he knows exactly what he wants. He has targets for me and I know I have a target for myself as well. Everybody wants the best so the discussion was really good. I know he can get the best out of a player and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Re: Loïc Rémy
I didn't really follow him so far, I don't really know how he played with his previous clubs (QPR, Newcastle).
I only watched his games with the NT and he wasn't great to be honest.
After all, Chelsea signed him, there is a reason.
I can't wait to watch him on the pitch, I want to see what he is able to do.

He scored 14 goals in 30 odd games for Newcastle, Which is solid. But take into consideration how Poor newcastle's side were last season and it is impressive. That is why we bought him.

14 in 26 and I should correct some incorrect things.
We wasn't really a poor side for all of last season, after all we were 5th on Boxing day 6 points from top.
2nd half of the season yes, but Remy hardly played then due to a multitude of reasons.
Also we weren't a poorer side last season than we were during Ba's time, especially during Ba's 2nd season where we definitely get relegated without Ba's goals.

Blues new-boy Rémy is 'perfect' for Chelsea, says Mourinho
José Mourinho has said France striker Loic Remy was an unplanned acquisition for the club this summer, but is a "perfect" fit for Chelsea

"Remy was almost in the last day, but that was just a consequence of Fernando leaving, a reaction to an unexpected situation."
"But, even so, the club was ready to give us a striker that we like and that we believe is perfect to be one of our three. So we did our job in a good way, I believe, with something that is fundamental for us."
