Schalke love to self-destruct. After KPB, Jule Draxler saw a straight red and Schalke played with 9 vs 11, until one of the Frankfurt guys got his marching orders, too. So in the end, the 2:2 was not the worst result.

@RG

Did you know - Moritz Stoppelkamp played for RW Oberhausen in 2008-2010. <3

Look likes Pep made the mistake of resting players. Pizarro is such a strange player, whenever he starts he doesnt score, but when as a sub he always scores Very Happy

The defense and Neuer too were just so dodgy, and were lucky they didnt concede.... I hope its not a case of Pep taking things too far again but evolution and insisting on playing like that Razz

Also another re-occuring problem lately for Pep is struggling to score goals?

IMHO that's a side effect of his "safety first" approach, whenever Bayern desperately try to hog possession north of 70% they stop making risky passes, and cease opening the opposing defence, they also tend to hold the ball for so long that the opponents never make it out of their own half, mostly defending with 10 to 11 men, simply because they get no opportunities to attack anyway.

Pep's tactics force the opposition to mix concrete, so I really don't know why he dislikes actual strikers as a player type, since those guys are most likely to score against a brick wall.

Looks like both Dortmund and BL blew their chances at being on top. The Bundesliga table looks nice right now and very close with the top 10.

Yesterday.
Note as an addition to my opinion that Bayern don't always opt to go for the zero risk approach. The problems I describe are just what happens whenever they prioritize possession. They still play with a bit more risky passing and more vertical play from time to time, it's what neutrals describe as their "good games", I reckon.

Borussia Dortmund vs VfB Stuttgart
Bayer 04 Leverkusen vs FC Augsburg
Bor. Mönchengladbach vs Hamburger SV

BTW, one sadder note - Frankfurt's goalie Kevin Trapp got injured yesterday and needs to have surgery. Now he'll be out for several months Sad

Deserved 3 points for Gladbach, complete ineffectiveness in clear situations, weak HSV and referee Aytekin is an total idiot.

Dortmund conceding 2 (the first one especially) very cheap goals. Until their defence will not augment tactically they will remain in their current woes as we know what they are capable of.

The scintillating Immobile-Aubamayang partnership running their attack, Immobile's goal to level it quite good in particular.

Gladbach should have won 5:0 or higher if not for their woeful finishing. On the plus side - third clean sheet for Yann Sommer in the BL cheers

Thats right, and Ive concluded long ago, especially after a few defeats to Mou and teams that park the bus and counter well.... and even teams that dont counter well shows can trouble a Pep side simply by defending deep well enough.... no style or system has no flaws and Pep's system has this flaw.

By the way, Timo Hildebrand (who didn't get a new contract at Schalke this summer) was signed up by Eintracht Frankfurt as reaction to Kevin Trapp's injury.

Timo Hildebrand will act as new Nr.2 behind Felix Wiedwald who will take over for Kevin Trapp between the posts.

Would be nice to score a goal this sunday. Against Frankfurt that seems achievable but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Great start to the season again Cool

Borussia M'gladbach won 2:1 against a very plucky freshly promoted Paderborn site. They couldn't have complained if this would have ended in a draw. So now BMG are second behind Bayern - at least until the next matchday. Oh, and 10 matches undefeated in a row. cheers

Took him about as many games as it did Thiago to break the passing record as well. Spaniards in Bundesfodder.

Coach Valerien Ismael of 1.FC Nürnberg decided to demote their former Nr.1 Raphael Schäfer to Nr.3 (!) and instead to build on youth with 21-year old Patrick Rakovsky between the sticks and likewise 21-year old  Samuel Radlinger on the bench.

Patrick Rakovsky is another graduate of the successful goalkeeper department of Schalke's Knappenschmiede.
