PSG are going to pay a premium over the transfer if the price were paid today.  For example, if the fee is agreed to be 55 mil today, PSG would pay a premium of 10 mil to make it 65 mil.  The transaction then becomes a 1 year loan with an automatic buyout clause of 65 million in the summer of next year.  As a result, the transfer does not hit the books for this season at all.

They did the same thing with Aurier and his 10 mil fee with Toulouse.

PSG seem highly confident that their 100 mil per season marketing deal will take full value after this season given that a similar deal was signed by Man U.  So they're pushing all the fees out far enough to allow for this to occur.  UEFA typically makes its decision in Dec/Jan and April/May of each year.  Even if UEFA does say no, they have solid grounds to take it to the Sports Arbitration court since there's precedent now (wasn't the case last year).

it's not a Qatar bank....  which shows your knowledge  It's the QTA or Qatar Tourism Authority.  It's actually more all-encompassing with the QTA deal then Adidas.  Adidas is just the official jersey and equipment provider for Man U.  With QTA, PSG needs to promote the country of Qatar in EVERYTHING they do.  That means equipment, all TV advertisements, all public events, etc.  PSG is also required to spend 2 weeks every winter break in Qatar with 3 friendlies, organized public appearances, etc...  with all the proceeds going to QTA and none to PSG.  Real Madrid played PSG in Qatar last winter for example in a friendly.

Ya you're right I don't know because me and 98% of the world don't care about scrubby lique 1 and Prestigious SG. But the close connections between club ownership and Qatar make it shady and over valued to pump up clubs revenues to spend more, UEFA clearly thought the same...

Uniteds deal is based off merchandise sales and brand recognition of previous deals, not inflated projections of boosting a countries economy/tourism with really no basis to get these numbers from...and PSG are not nearly popular enough to have people flocking to Qatar to go visit Nepal slaves on vacation

Wrong again.  It's based on brand appeal and reach, whether it's the club brand or the players' brand.  PSG has a TON of superstars from all over the place and that's what brings the most value.  People may not necessarily watch the games for PSG...  but they will watch it for Ibra, Cavani, Silva, Luiz, Verratti, etc.  Man U, on the other hand, has club brand value but little international appeal in terms of superstars on the team.

Also, BeIN Sport, which is now everywhere, emphasizes Ligue 1 and PSG everywhere that they are.

That makes sense from PSG's point of view, but why have Real Madrid agreed to such a deal? What's the benefit for Real Madrid, they could easily sell to another club and receive the same fee but a year earlier. And why have Real Madrid not taken advantage of PSG's situation by asking for an even higher fee? €65m doesn't seem right for one of the best footballers in the world.

It's really sad that FFP is not really working even though many predicted it before.

Because PSG has a very good relationship with Real Madrid.  They let Carlo go last year when they didn't want to.  There are players at PSG that Real Madrid may want in the future and PSG is one of the few clubs that can pay big for players that Real Madrid want to sell.  It makes sense in a lot of ways for RM to have a great relationship.

Second thing is that Real Madrid can easily borrow against the auto option to buy if they need the money.  Since PSG is going to pay a 20% premium...  you can get a loan at 80% of value for 1 year no problem.  In terms of cash flow, it doesn't affect Real Madrid to help PSG out.

And PSG have refused to pay more than 20% over the the current market price, which is apparently 50-55 mil. Di Maria has to agree to go to the club too and PSG is offering him the highest wage.

I also get the feeling that there was some sort of preferential deal understanding when Carlo was let go to Madrid.

All this said, Di Maria may not end up at PSG. They don't want to spend a penny more than 65 mil on him.

As far as FFP, the concept is garbage. If you want to create equity, the only way is to set a salary cap that EVERY club needs to abide by. If you go over the cap, you should pay a supertax that is shared by all the other teams AND get sanctions on top of it. All FFP is doing is making sure that nobody can catch up to the current elite, which is bs.

All this said... if Man U table a 70 mil offer today payable immediately and Di Maria is ok with the move, then he goes to Man U.
