Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
On topic, I think Vidal will be a great addition. No homo.

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
Rummenigge confirmed that everythings agreed and there's only the medical left to do.
Fee apparently around 35m €. Feel like it's really not THAT much, especially if one remembers last summer .
What are your feelings, S?

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
Garbage deal for us.
And no Götze as well.
€45m would've been a fairer deal for us.Really disappointing.
But to be frank, Vidal wasn't up to his usual standards until the CL ties against Dortmund where he rediscovered his old form again.
Still in today's market,€ 45m would've been fairer despite his off field issues
Bayern owning in the market once again.Still haven't paid more than €40m for a player. Prudent business once again.Congrats.

Salut Surag! Ce mai faci?
You gave Vidal, you bought Khedira; Pirlo went, who will replace him? Give me some info about the way you see Juve without Vidal next season. Time for Sturaro to play for Juve?

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
The thing with Götze is, I really don't think he wants to leave yet.
And the club doesn't want to offload him.
Contrary to all the media rumbling, he'll get at least another year yet to increase his impact for us, and I don't think he's that unhappy, or Pep that unhappy with him, as it's made out to be.
I could be wrong of course, and things might change if City push hard for De Bruyne and we want to intercept that deal this summer.
That would also mean the end of the 40m barrier
I'm not getting too excited about Vidal simply for the reason he was supposed to join us in 2011 for 15m € or so and then went to Juve instead.
So we're paying more for an older Vidal.
But it's not like we've been doing bad in between.
If we assume our midfield missed a certain tenacity and grit in challenges, with Schweini, Lahm and Alonso, Vidal will be a good addition.
Martinez' knee is still trouble.
Wonder what this means for Rode and Höjberg though.

Asamoah will move back to midfield I reckon. We'll sign a new LB(Alex Sandro, Kurzawa or Siquiera)
So the midfield would comprise of : Marchisio , Pogba, Khedira, Sturaro, Asamoah, Pereyra.
Still, it doesn't look that bad.
For AM, Draxler is likely to sign.

In all the (few) games I saw, I thought Marchisio was your best player anyway.

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
Alex Sandro, Kurzawa or Siquiera to be Evra's possible substitute?
Midfield looks nike on paper with Draxler AM, I didn't know Asamoah can play in the central axis.
Yep, Vidal was in decline last season, especially when it came about scoring and the last third of the pitch.

Asamoah is actually a beast CM.We kinda stalled his development by playing him as a LB/LWB
And do agree Marchisio was our best midfielder last year. And he'll play the entire season at DM unlike previous season.Really looking forward to it.

Marchisio to take Pirlo's role and play behind the other midfielders?

Yeah most likely.Marchisio is world class in that position.
Our midfield depth is the only reason I'm not that upset about Vidal's loss.Either ways exciting season ahead.

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
Interesting to see how it goes for Draxler if it indeed happens (I have my doubts as he's expensive).
His last seasons weren't good, whether because of injuries, positional uncertainties, Schalke being a shit club in general, or him not being all that after all.
Still very young, so he might blossom.
Still feel like out of Schalke's AM youngsters, Max Meyer would be the one to get. Goretzka too is one to watch.
If Schalke sell Draxler for 35m and get Shaqiri for 15m, interesting to see which player proves more valuable in the long run.
Then again Schalke also lost Farfan, which I don't get tbh.
As for Juve's midfield, one can assume Pogba's only going to improve too. Let's not forget he's just about at the beginning.

There is no way we paying €35m for him
If Schalke don't budge from their request, then the transfer is definitely not happening.

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
Jefferson Farfán is great when fit. The problem is that he wasn't fit for quite a while lately, and with 30 years of age, he might not fully recover at all.Hapless_Hans wrote:Then again Schalke also lost Farfan, which I don't get tbh.

Welcome Vidal
One of my favourite players to play for one of my favourite managers.
Can't wait to watch how Pep uses him.
