I really have nothing against Sonago, think he has potential but he is too raw. Needs a season on loan to adapt to the English game. Wenger saw something special in Bendtner as well. Let’s hope Sanogo has a good head on his shoulders.

Sanogo is quite athletic so i don't think he will have any problem getting used to the English game. The problem with him at the moment is that technically he is quite poor. He will need to improve a lot in that aspect to make it here.

Gustavo is someone we can use for sure but if he costs more than £18m then it's not worth it. Carvalho too green? Schneiderlin most likely then?

The fact is that Arsenal negotiated with Khedira and made a bid for Williams as well as no solid link with Schneiderlin last 2 weeks or so. Maybe Wenger doesnt rate the French man as much as we fans do, that must be like 4th or 5th choice by now.

Also Gustavo for me, albeit Brazil last 2 WC games which Fernandinho played like crap next to him, he's best option out of everyone linked to us. Looking back last 2 seasons, we ( with Wenger brilliant eye of course) dodged bullets with M'vila, Capoue, Tiote, Wyamma sp?, Diamme; remember how us fans screaming for their signings all next Viera and what not. We fans with our scouting scope got it wrong more often than we would think

A. He's not crap, he just had a poor loan spell regressing a Freiburg where they used him on the wings
B. What do you expect for a fringe player who has a year left
C. He looked decent vs Boreham.

I think I'm leaning toward Schneiderlin here. Younger, PL-experience, probably more willing to rotate having come from Southampton where he wasnt always a starter.

Well Wenger is still keeping tabs on him to possibly sign him in the future.

Coquelin just like Frimpong, Miguel & Landsbury represent the desperate hope we had during our dark time when we couldnt sign anyone for shit and youngsters were all that we looking forward to. The sad truth is that they're not good enough to make it anymore with the current quality, some left and the rest will be released when their contract is up. And just like Larsson and Tomas, they will be regular starters for mid table teams.

Think its harsh to lump Coquelin in that category, If i remember correctly he did put together a solid run of games but he got injured then Ramsey took over. The guy just needs game time too mature and improve, its very hard for a young player to progress if he isn't getting game time. He went to Freiburg but barely played as well.Think there are French clubs who will want to pick up Coquelin on loan., sadly I can't see any clubs spending anything on him.

He's barely younger and I don't know why anyone rates PL experience above someone like Gustavo's experience at both Bayern and for Brazil.. and Wolfsburg aren't exactly scrubs either..

Gustavo wouldn't mind being rotated the rare occasions he would be. He would be a preferred starter for sure and if fit would easily clear 35 apps.

He's a far superior player. Schneid is rightly a 3rd to 4th choice target..

Nope.  Deal already done with PSG for 60 mil.  Only waiting for PSG to clear some players after the Aug 2 supercup... they can't move players until after that game because they wouldn't have enough bodies for it.  All their WC players (the entire squad basically) have yet to check back.  Only first team players are Ibra, Lucas, Van Der Wiel, Jallet, Camara, Marquinhos, Pastore, Chantome and Rabiot.  Lucas and Van Der Wiel are injured.  So they can't move Jallet, Chantome and Rabiot (all on their way out) until after that game...  Lavezzi is on the market right now.  I get the feeling Pastore is too.

Only thing that would stop it is if PSG back out... and there's no sign of that right now. I doubt they would.

PL-experience means a lot to me and although I know what Gustavo is capable of, he had a pretty bad WC performance, if he's still valued at above 20m then I think we should steer clear of that.

I'd prefer someone to be able to slot in immediately but I, like everyone else, would be happy to see any holding midfielder come, not very picky about which.
