Messi instead of Müller? Mind you, if not for the goals in the first two group matches, Messi was pretty much anonymous in those.

Well, I was just expessing my surprise. Moreover, Thomas Müller got 4 goals plus an assist, so he is the current sole leader of the scorer table by the additional assist.

Alexis instead of Robben, Mascherano instead of Gustavo and Müller instead of Benz and I'm fine with that. Although there is literally no midfield. Laughing

No bias.

Well, I don't mind whom you would take out (except for the goalie, of course), I just think that Müller belongs into it Very Happy

You have to remember that Messi is playing in a disfunctional team, where as Muller is playing in arguably the best team of the tournament. Not to mention that 3 out of the 4 goals that Messi has scored, he fabricated the goals by himself.

How can be assist considered for the selection of sole leader in SCORER table?? so if they all three finish with same number of goals, assists will be considered for the top scorer selection??? i think that ridiculous anyway....

without Alexis its incomplete...however i think Robben had been one of the best players so far....Also muller has to be there. no matter what are their contributions, 4 goals in 3 matches are too much to exclude any of the trio.

According to FIFA rules. That's why Thomas Müller won the Golden Boot in the WC2010, too - he had 3 assists and the other players with 5 goals had less.

Seems to me that Blind, Marquez and Godin are only making the team because of their offensive contributions rather than bossing the defensive aspect.

Johnson--Marquez-Blind---

Muller has scored 4 goals, but 3 on one game and I didn't think he was overall as good as the forwards i have listed.I also think that godin shouldn't be mentioned after that disastrous Costa Rica game

The people not putting any Costa Rica players in their team (especially defenders) are exactly what's wrong with this world.

Context & certain elements are needed when putting together these sort of teams. eg. strength of opponent, strength of teammates, when the goal was scored or assist was made, the players role on the team etc

You guys are just putting together the best players from the best teams.

Marquez has been good, but Moreno has been our best defender by far.

Blind is yes.... Marquez isn't as Mexico have conceded one goal and he's a big reason why and Uruguay conceded once against England and Italy and Godin has been largely responsible.
