England midfielder Frank Lampard is expected to follow Terry in agreeing a new one-year contract to stay at Chelsea and the 35-year-old may also be promised a future coaching role.

Ashley Cole’s future is less clear. Chelsea have opened talks with the 33-year-old left-back over a new deal, but he is yet to receive an offer and there is rival interest from the Premier League and overseas.

Fantastic news.

We need to find his replacement in the summer though. Although I am not 100% sold on Zouma, there is another reason why he can't be Terry replacement. Zouma is a player that best plays along side terry, a cb that reads the game well is what we really need to replace our captain.

Obviously Varane fits that mould perfectly.

I don't think we need a replacement, yet. We have 3 solid CB's so a fourth will get no gametime.

Unless we can purchase Varane and loan him back to Madrid? Wink

Anyway, awesome, but expected news, glad we'll have our legend around for another year.
