sergio ramos' best game in a madrid shirt imo.....i've been critical of him, but he's come through in the last major games we've had. munich and the copa final. hopefully he maintains this composure all the way

Who will fill Xabi's massive shoes?

Illarra? Khedira? Isco?

None of those names have what it takes for a CL FINAL and regardless of the opponent we need the leadership and discipline that Xabi brings.  Massive loss.

Personally I'd probably put Varane in front of the defense to sweep in front of Pepe and Ramos.  Then I would have the default of Di Maria and Modric in midfield.

Illarra's time imo. I hope he spends some time with Xabi these 3 weeks

So happy. I love this team and the players.

The mental strength to bounce back after three semi final defeats. Considering past years as well as this year we deserve our place in the final.

I hope the players can take that final step and win it. It would go down in history

I am a bit afraid too... But they can prep someone, plus Ancelotti can strategize.

Alonso missing isn't such a bad thing after all

Worried about no Alonso. It reminds me of the time Madrid struggled at the start of the season and went 7 points behind 1st place Barcelona because Alonso was injured and Carlo could't find the right balance.

Don't like Illara much. He is like another Modric but not as good. Not similar to Alonso in any way but long passing.

Khedira is a wild card. I think he can come in as he is experienced and a better option than Illarramendi. But he hasn't played all season. And to come in to the biggest game of the decade for Madrid, it might be too much. Unless he plays the last 2 games to get some fitness in.

Nah, Illarra isn't agile and can't dribble like Modric.

Illarra's only good in the same position as Alonso and he has the same weaknesses. He's basically a poor mans Alonso.

Illarra is more of a CM than a DLP. Closer to Koke/Modric than to Alonso/Pirlo.

In any case that doesn't matter. Carlo needs to use the last 3 matches in La Liga to find that right balance for the final.
