Re: Congratulations to Juventus on winning Serie A 13-14
finally some sense, we were simply out of form and LLorente wasn't playing our team wasn't gelledEivindo wrote:They werent outplayed by Madrid at all though, but they somehow cant finish off the weaker teams like they should, and I really dont know what is going on with that. Can we really just say "bad luck"? Over 20 shots at goal or something vs Copenhagen, but just 1 goal. That is not a normal Juve display, even Peluso could have scored 2 if given 20 good shots on target lol, or perhaps not.
Then we have that insane blooper from Buffon against Galatasaray in Turin, giving away 2 points also. Incredible

Re: Congratulations to Juventus on winning Serie A 13-14
Judging Serie A on the performance of their best team in CL is not really right but i just dont really see any serie A clubs really doing anything relevant in Europe for a while now. People says Serie A is on rise , has been saying it for 5 years now, yet i think they are just maintaining the level rather than improving.
Re: Congratulations to Juventus on winning Serie A 13-14
The out of form excuse really should apply to teams that are not Italian champions which, btw, is still a big deal in Europe. You know, the country that won 4 World Cups (cheers to Wiggles). Unfortunately, Juventus does not have the luxury of saying they were out of form (they were) as certain expectations were not met and I'm sure the hierarchy would be doing their utmost best to rectify this.
All in all, Juventus winning Serie A again (they would) is a great accomplishment which all fans should be proud of.
As for having the group stages, don't like to entertain would if moments but if Juventus couldn't beat RM then, I'm certain now would have been of similar results.

Re: Congratulations to Juventus on winning Serie A 13-14
Out of form excuses are really poor. Galatsary was so out of form that they changed their manager during the CL group stages...it applies to every team.
Re: Congratulations to Juventus on winning Serie A 13-14
Juventus' knock-out in the CL does not reflect on the league.
Here is why:
-Conte is an absolute lion of a man and manager. Yet his inexperience in Europe has had him at times, unable to differentiate to what works best for Juventus in disparity between Europe and Serie A. As evidenced by Bayern last season, he chose to go with his head-scratching defensive plan to which renders Pirlo inefficient as DM, Marchisio at SS, the fullbacks withdrawn etc as it only works versus provinciale lower Italian teams. His approach in the CL group was as cautious, him not realizing that it invited pressure on the disjointed formation as such caution was not needed.
-The 4-3-3 does not work in Serie A for Juventus, but it works in Europe as displayed by his successes using it versus Chelsea, Shaktar etc. In Europe you do not play a 3 man back-line with wingbacks to create width, as the slow and deliberate formation is far too tactical of a semantic in a Europe dominated by pressing, width and pace. In Europe you STREAMLINE your team accordingly as his defensive version of a 3-5-2 and decision not to play the 4-3-3 cost him, making his team look FAR WORSE and in-congruent it actually is, not using the squad to play their game what they play best.
-Carlitos Tevez. He is a true European flop. End of. A highly unfit Champions League debutant Llorente having 3 starts scored 2 goals and 2 assists and was not used enough while Tevez continued to flop.
-Weather condition in the Ata-Turk stadium, although it is true Juventus should have gained points earlier rather than coming down to the final match.
-Very poor form in the league looking disjointed and dominated even by mid-table clubs.
Until Conte doesn't learn on how he must adapt between Serie A and Europe, along with abandoning his occasional defensive deep plan to which is proven not to work (and is the bane of his tactics), then they will not succeed in Europe.
His team needs to be built more for knock-outs rather than the league, to which is similar to Manchester United. Grinding out victories over a thin and prolonged period of time.

Heartfelt congrats to Juve and their tifosi on their scudetto win.
What a beast team they've been all season.
It's bittersweet considering how awesome Roma have been as well, but that should take nothing away from this side. Deserved winners.

Re: Congratulations to Juventus on winning Serie A 13-14
30th scudetto deserved. It became illegal in Serie A with partnership Tevez-Llorente to complete the squad. It will beat record'points too , although I think it was even more outstanding that record of first Conte's scudetto (unbeaten) considering it was a squad more normal that played even with Pepe and Estigarriba..while if you play with Tevez, Vidal etc is not even so strange to win almost all the matches in this Serie A
meh.. other Italian clubs won in CL in last 20 years , even recently...

Hopefully Serie A's competitive next year. Right now Juve are the only elite team and if I was a Juve fan I wouldn't feel like I've accomplished much winning the league.

What garbage is this??
Milan from 2003 to 2007 were easily the best team in Europe. They could've and should've won 5 CL's in a row instead of just 2 during that span. Twice it took miracles from Pool and Super Depor to oust them from 3-0 and 4-1 down. For some stupid reason they only won Calcio once with that team though Carletto bottling league titles as always.
And obviously Maureen's treble winning Inter.

Clearly McAgger is too tense to realise Nick was being sarcastic. Of course, he'll come and say he was being serious and go on all about how Vidal is the best b2b in the world or something like that...
