Re: Moyes Has destroyed an empire
I can't believe he will be confirmed despite other 5 years of contract. No reasons. No one follows him , not even the players ( today typical attitude for a friendly match, not a round of Champions League ... only Rooney and Vidic seem interested to the match.) . you need to resist other 3 months.

We weren't playing Bayern or Madrid
It was Olympiacos and they looked 50 steps ahead of us, and it's not for the first time, it's been happening all season against teams we should be comfortable against, it's a tactical problem first and foremost
Of course it is.... if you have a front 4 of Januzaj, Mata, Van Persie and Roonay and you constantly crossing to the point you are breaking f*cking crossing records there's clearly an issue lol.
The man is just inept and the players are actually far better than given credit for.
De Gea
Rafael Jones Vidic Evra
Carrick Fellaini
Mata Roonay Januzaj

These are international level players lol, except for maybe Januzaj the team is very good and any decent manager would make them look as such.

Absolutely. That's why, again, PLEASE don't fire him!!

That team is top heavy in attack, with virtually no midfield or defence. Jones? Puuuuhlease

Moyes knows anything can happen in football: “You see some of the games, where teams have hung on and hung on and somehow nicked a goal.”
-----------------------------------------
Moyes for you. i just didn't think even a manager as negative as him would use those tactics against the likes of Olympiakos.

Re: Moyes Has destroyed an empire
Jones is a good player at CB when i have seen them actually use him there.
For some reason they seem to have some hard on to use him as a midfield destroyer
I agree its top heavy, but i have seen more top heavy teams be successful but again they didn't have Moyes in charge he's the issue here.

Somebody call Ferguson, I want to hear his answer to the question "What made you choose David Moyes as your successor?"

Mole, Jones would struggle to get into Newcastle's team in ANY position. Centre back, Midfielder, Winger, Striker, janitor, chef, waiter, the guy that hands out leaflets at the door etc

Re: Moyes Has destroyed an empire
Personally think that David Moyes is a fantastic manager as he only is a victim of some unjust prejudice and scrutiny from a malicious English media and fanship. What United and Ferguson need to do is provide him an 8 year contract to allow him the time and resources to build a team so that he can continue his work in Old Trafford.

Disagree.
Mainly because we have been playing Steven Taylor without Coloccini and the man makes Jones look like Bobby Moore incarnate and i'm not joking
11 goals in 3 games with Taylor... dropped and a clean sheet

Re: Moyes Has destroyed an empire
It's the same team that dominated PL a year ago, plus Fellaini, Mata, Januzaj....
It's not possible that MOST of the players if not all of them suddenly declined after Moyes arrived, it's quite obvious where the problem lies.
Moyes has to go and ASAP, let the other manager build for next season as this season is as good as done for them but I hope they keep Moyes for a few more years or am I getting greedy?

You're trying a bit too hard. Jones bossed arsenal back at OT this season. I can see that made you bitter towards him.

Nobody mentions the Olympiakos are pretty amazing at home and have upset European powerhouses before and pretty often... it's never easy to go there and win.

Re: Moyes Has destroyed an empire
Look, first, I don't get where people are coming up with Man U having a horrendous team. They have good players everywhere.
Second, Moyes is changing Man U in his image. And as with most processes it takes time to shift a team from playing from one style to another. Patience is all that's need now. That's about as broad and straightforward as I can put it.
Also we must give credit where credit is due. Olympiakos are a good team who are also well led. It's an injustice to call them terrible.

Re: Moyes Has destroyed an empire
Its not just Olympiakos though Sports though is it.
Its a long standing issue which has very deep roots, its like me saying Pardew should stay and its not his fault we couldn't beat Chelsea and Spurs.
That's not really the point, more than Man Yoo look utterly clueless under his direction or lack of.

We made them look like an elite super team. Played like pansies and adopted tactics a team would if they went to the Nou Camp or the allianz arena.
They deserve to win tonight and deserve credit, but it was so easy for them. (never thought I'd say that). United just never showed up and look like they couldn't be bothered.
And that stems from poor preperation, poor mentality, poor tactics, poor team selection, poor motivation- poor management!

I think it has more to do with the 3 wins in 2014 more than a kneejerk reaction from this game... 3 wins in 2014 and we're in March.

Re: Moyes Has destroyed an empire
There had been a part of me that, deep down, believed Moyes had something in him to resurrect a little bit of good form at some point in the season. The longer this has gone on, added to the weird team selection tonight has made it pretty clear that the job is too much for him. It was awful beyond belief tonight. The team was set-up to create chances from wide, but when your wide players are Valencia & Young with Smalling (horrendous RB) and Evra, you can't be surprised when you create feck all. Cleverley is a passenger in these games and is far too limited in his ability to have any effect on a game like that.
He's just lost.
He's just lost.

Re: Moyes Has destroyed an empire
Pretty sure that was Olympiakos's first ever victory in a Champion's League knockout round. That doesn't exactly suggest that they're upset-kings when it comes to this stage of the competition.sportsczy wrote:Nobody mentions the Olympiakos are pretty amazing at home and have upset European powerhouses before and pretty often... it's never easy to go there and win.
