João Carlos Teixeira
I think it's time he has his own thread.
Been absolutely head and shoulders ahead of anyone else in the reserves side for over a year now. (apart from Ibe, but I count Jordon as a first teamer). He was so highly rated when we signed him, because of the absolutely rape he performed on our NextGen side in 2011. But a series of back injuries and poor work ethic issues left the coaches unimpressed. However, he's put his head down like a god boy and has worked hard to put himself into contention for promotion. He's older than Suso and one of the oldest in our reserves at 21 so it's high time he's promoted.
Rodgers this week on him
Personally think he's got the same talent level as Suso, he's just been unlucky.

Rodgers this week on him
The 21-year-old midfielder has spent time at the club's senior training complex recently along with a handful of other Academy graduates - and the boss is pleased by what he's seen.
Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo: "I have contact with Alex Inglethorpe on a daily basis and Joao has been one of the outstanding performers for the reserves. "When he has stepped up to the first team before it has been difficult for him. "But I've seen a big difference in him. He is a talent. "I always observe in training and see where players are at and Joao has looked very good. His intensity, the speed of his game - he has undoubted quality and he has showed up very well. We have brought in a number of young players to be around the squad. "Brad Smith has been training here along with Jack Dunn, Joao and Stephen Sama. They have all looked very good and that's the idea - to bring young players through."
Personally think he's got the same talent level as Suso, he's just been unlucky.

Re: João Carlos Teixeira
Teixeira, Suso and Coutinho are more or less similar players, right?

Re: João Carlos Teixeira
I think Suso is more of typical Spanish type of player where as Coutinho is Coutinho, like other Brazilian '*nho' . I also think Suso is more suited to CM area, although he has skills to be Silva also, I hope he will develop into a first teamer, not sure if he needs another loan to one of the EPL club. Teixeria has more speed compared to Suso and Coutinho, I dont think he is creative as of Cou or even Suso, but he seems to be a good finisher.

Great debut. Made up for him, glad that he got to experience such an enormous late minute winner. Think he can make it here.

Re: João Carlos Teixeira
Looked positive.
To his credit, he played his game, and ignored Suarez at times to play the 'better' pass; he wasn't nervous and looked to play rather than letting the occasion get to his head, he was just content in playing his game. Decent debut.

We should play him and Ibe more against the weak sides.

Both goals were from pretty tight angles. Hope he develops right, can be a great asset.

Re: João Carlos Teixeira
I'll go as far as to say that if he was English (or British), he'd be given a chance in the Prem. Now I don't know. Hoping he still gets his chance.

Re: João Carlos Teixeira
I agree Art. It's easier for Brits to get a chance with us than an equally talented foreigner under the current regime. It's the truth and quite utterly sad and disgraceful.
I hope Tex is in the the squad for United. Can't believe Rossiter is getting minutes and on the bench ahead of Tex. It's not even close how much more ready Tex is than Rossiter.

Teixeira in 2014-15 (for BHA)
Games: 35
Goals: 5
Assists: 4
Jordan Ibe in 2014-15 (for Derby)
Games: 24
Goals: 5
Assists: 1
Pretty much similar experience and performance

Re: João Carlos Teixeira
Yet Tex hasn't had a sniff at first team and Ibe has been a starter since like February whenever available.
But it's not Ibe getting minutes that pisses me off, Ibe can hold his own pretty well. it's Rossiter (I love this kid by the way) who is still worlds away from being able to do anything in the top flight, gets minutes ahead of Tex. It's just not right or reasonable.

Re: João Carlos Teixeira
For me it's neither Ibe nor Rossiter that matters. What annoyes me is, if he isn't good enough why not sell him and if he is worth keeping, why not try him.
He is 22 and he isn't going to improve playing for youth or watching the seniors. I know the season is just few games old, but I know there's more chance of Joe Freaking Allen getting starts than Teixeira making bench.

Re: João Carlos Teixeira
I know it's just one game and that too against a side struggling in the league (so possibly saving their energy for the league survival), but he impressed me. If he had played few minutes here and there and thus had a feel of the competition, even then his performance would have been laudable.

Re: João Carlos Teixeira
He should play more.
Coutinho being injured was a perfect opportunity to give him a shot at being our creative fulcrum. There are a lot of similarities there (though I think Joao lacks pace) and Swansea desperately called for some creativity.
I hope he gets a bigger chance with Klopp moving forward because he's a talent. How big we won't really know until he gets a proper run of games against real competition.

Replace the first names with 'Alex' and you might get your wish. Joao Carlos, I think he'll be gone in the summer. Just don't see how he'd fit in the team.

Yeah sadly I don't think he's gotta future with us. He'll definitely have a decent career though. Good talent.
