Re: Liverpool 5 - 1 Arsenal: We drew the second half!
I think Wenger should try a combination of arteta cazorla wilshere in the mid field but this means ozil moves to the left and ox/gnabry stay on the right. Now wilshere will have play a box to box role like Ramsey was doing in the second half last season not rush forward like ramsey this season. Basically you have a pviot which can retain possession in oppents half something which arsenal didn't do in Southampton or liverpool

Another option is to play wilshere in front of flamini and arteta

We are one dimensional and predictable, Wenger really gets outplayed too easily. After the first 20 min or so, he should have taken a player 1 or 2 out to send a message.
I am not looking forward facing United, as bad as they have been they will get a result. I can also see Fulham beating Liverpool.

what are you talking about? flamini/arteta combo doesnt work, we have tried it about 4-5 times and lost/drawn all games bar the napoli won.

Re: Liverpool 5 - 1 Arsenal: We drew the second half!
Arteta-Flamini on paper should provide solid defensive cover and let the front 3 and CF to attack without worrying much about defending.. i still think it is a good option against big strong attacking teams like Bayern, City, etc..
but whenever we have played Arteta-Flamini, the results were not that good.. the problem is that there is no one carry the ball forward.. that is it may work only when we have Ramsey, Wilshere or Rosicky in front 3 who can drop deep and carry the ball forward.. Ozil and Cazorla are too lazy to take some responsibility..

Arteta Flamini Ozil is being used by wenger whereas i am saying it should arteta flamini and wilshere.
Also like wilson said ozil and cazorla infront arteta flamini and wilshere wont work but if we have ozil/cazorla and ox/ganbry it would work.

Crazy fans.
I am still heartbroken, I dont think even beating United and winning next week will heal anything.

Arteta urges Arsenal to react after 'car crash' defeat to Liverpool
"We have three days to lift the place up and we have to be realistic. After 18 minutes we were 4-0 down and it was like a car crash," the midfielder told reporters.
“But it’s not the right thing to do to blame each other for mistakes, which is usually what happens after these games. We have to help each other and we have three days to do that.
“The next game is obviously massive because now it’s about how you react, how it has affected you. Every time you have a big defeat it’s like that."
“The manager was really upset at half-time, that’s normal because it wasn’t good enough for this football club. The angriest I have seen him? Yes,” the Spaniard added. “We have to react, we have to improve on what we have done.
“We know we need to face those games in a different manner because we fought really hard to get in this position. But we’ve been here before and have managed to come back so hopefully we will do it again.
“People say we lose the big games, but we’ve won some big games as well, at home and in Europe.
“We’ve had two big crises already. I think Manchester United was a different game to this, but City and this one are really hard to take.”
---------------------------------------------------
We will see how you respond and who Wenger is going to Bench? there is no way we should start the same team as Saturday game.
Ozil behavior was just embarrassing, I dont want him flop again next game.

Re: Liverpool 5 - 1 Arsenal: We drew the second half!
Gotta say, I was impressed by AOC. Even at 5-0 he was driving at our defense and looking to make something happen in a way none of your other players did all match. He's supplemented his natural pace and skill with an impressive mentality and deserve bit of confidence since his return and proven my early doubts about him well wrong. Wilshere is getting a lot of attention for his determination in the game but honestly, I think he mis-channeled it into aggression and unnecessary tackles, whereas AOC played continued to press forward with his natural game without the uncalled for nonsense.
I feel for Szczesny as well, despite shipping 5 goals he had a solid game and it could probably have been double that if not for him. Finally, I don't think Giroud should get too much blame for this result. Fact is, the ball rarely if ever made it to him in a dangerous position. Liverpool were so effective in pressuring Arsenal in midfield and defense that Giroud was left completely isolated until the match was already effectively over. Henderson, Gerrard and ever Coutinho were able to harass and contain Arsenal's midfielders exceptionally well.

To be fair, those same Liverpool fans were talking about a 2-man midfield which hasn't actually happened when that line-up has been played (Cou has been in a fairly central position every time).MJGunner wrote:I missed the mindless scapegoating. Save the "player x cannot keep playing" shit.
It takes a collective team effort to blow this badly.
And the Liverpool fans were writing themselves off

In our defense, We didnt expect Cou to drastically improve and find his feet at Anfield in the last two games.
Villa barely 2 games ago he was invisible. Credits to BR, Happily accept that i was wrong about it.

we dont have a proper DM, so players like cou and mata when he comes on Wednesday can always flourish against us.

Re: Liverpool 5 - 1 Arsenal: We drew the second half!
He had a similar performance against Everton with Barry and McCarthy holding in midfield. It was simply a matter of him having enough options to pass to that he couldn't be isolated. We've outrun and outworked both Everton and Arsenal to such a degree that it wasn't really about the opponents, it was just the sheer effort and precision in our play.REWB wrote:Nishank wrote:In our defense, We didnt expect Cou to drastically improve and find his feet at Anfield in the last two games.

I've always stated we play a 3 man midfield.
I've stated we're playing a "2-1" midfield instead of a "1-2" though. Coutinho or Henderson are sitting right next to Gerrard.
And Coutinho wasn't in a central position earlier this season. He's only came into the middle since Lucas was injured.

To an extent, I agree. But he did well against Everton and Arsenal because of the space he could play his passes into.
Look at the West Brom game where he played the same role/position and looked clueless because West Brom played deep and he couldn't exploit the space behind because well, there wasn't any. Mulumbu and Jacob had him in their pockets, I think he had a 60% passing rate that day and just looked ineffective!

If we don't win a trophy this season, I won't be able to take it. I will go on holiday all summer and cry.

That's the problem, everyone looks at it like it was always our league to lose. There are 38 games ffs.
If we win, at the very least, the FA Cup (most realistic trophy) and finish in the top 3 I'll be happy but to win NOTHING at all would be disappointing obviously.

I realistically can't see us winning anything this season.
Maybe the FA Cup if we want to be most realistic. Much will depend on the Liverpool game this Sunday though,

Seriously though.MJGunner wrote:I wonder how we would have answered that before Liverpool
I know you're kinda doubting me because of my Özil thread in the general section.
But, of course, I still have hope, but realistically even before the 'Pool game I thought that with our massively tough run of fixtures throughout this month and next, that we'd drop away from City and Chelsea or either one of them.
In the CL, we have Bayern, and again I always have hope that we can win any match, but come on! It's Bayern.
So the FA Cup is our most realistic chance at silverware, that is if Wenger takes it seriously and not do a Blackburn a la last season.
