Arsenal Vs Liverpool
Actually had no idea we were playing on a Friday??
In any case. This is nothing but a defeat.
----------------Cech--------------------
Bellerin------Koscielny---Monreal----Niles

Iwobi---------Ozil--------------Sanchez
--------------Lacazette---------------
Only made this thread this early to ask what is going on between Kolasinac, Arsene and Niles? has he realised Kolasinac is technically poor? or that Niles' pace is important?
No idea what is going on here.
In any case. This is nothing but a defeat.

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
I believe Wenger is just resting Kolasinac and against better oppositions he would start him.
I am not really looking forward this game a tie would be great result.

Should be a good game, Ox might start since he's been brilliant the last few times out. He'll be looking to change perceptions.

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
There was always a 50% chance of THIS arsenal turning up. Cant get 3 4 passes going together.

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
Bring back the dull Arsenal/Liverpool games please.
I say this a lot these days, but that was a really amateurish performance from us. The set-up was four defenders plus six guys who did whatever the hell they wanted, and those four defenders barely acted like a unit all game.
Firmino was a big problem. His dropping deep continually sucked out our centre backs because the midfield cover was non-existent all game. Liverpool would draw out a centre back, work the ball down Bellerin's side to tilt out defence and then expose the gaps at the back post on Maitland-Niles' side because he's not strong in the air.
First Pool goal: Wilshere slips in midfield so can't picked up Firmino. Maitland-Niles is on Salah but leave him to cover Firmino - big mistake. Ball is played behind Arsenal's high line and takes AMN out the game. Koscielny does well to cover Salah and block the cross, but Wilshere's earlier slip means he can't cover the run of Coutinho. Xhaka too slow to get back as well. Also luck involved with the deflection falling kindly.
Second Pool goal: another break away, but we've got numbers back. Firmino makes a run into the right channels, takes BOTH centre backs with him. There's no cover because AMN is up the pitch. Wilshere tries to follow the run but is too slow. Salah pops it off, runs straight through the middle of the damn pitch and picks his spot. Too easy for a talent like him.
Third Pool goal: I'll let my Tweet do the talking. Also, Cech is finished.
Offensively, well, it's still as awful as it always is. We couldn't sustain any pressure because the passing and first touch was so sloppy. Everyone pushes up, puts two or three passes together before giving the ball away = counter attack heaven for any opposing side. Lacazette had a good game because he was the only one taking up smart positions and using the ball well. Iwobi did okay since he at least attracked Robertson to him and freed up space for Bellerin, who was our best outlet most of the time. I'm unconvinced by this Xhaka-Wilshere-Ozil midfield because it's too open. Wilshere and Ozil drop deep so that takes away Xhaka's only real purpose, and they kept crossing over into each other's lanes so we had no structure and couldn't sustain any rhythm.
It's a good thing Liverpool aren't good at the back otherwise we would have never gotten back into this.

What is Koscielny trying to do here? Complete ignores Firmino in the first instance, then pushes up to intercept a ball he can't reach. pic.twitter.com/jNe4YNv2PU

Re: Arsenal Vs Liverpool
Just watched it
Wow, thought the match was at Anfield with our performance. How did Liverpool not score 6 lmao. Shambles of a performance.
No regard for defending at all.
