Re: Predict the last 8 of the CL
Only City are possible of causing an upset in my view.
The 8 teams i quoted in my post are the best 8 teams than can go through in the competition imo. There's going to be some awesome ties in the last 8.

All the group winners for me. Want to hope that Arsenal can get one over Bayern but the German team is just too strong ffs.

Didn't expect to see this many people picking City to beat Barca. I think it will be close, but Barca will win.

If we score 1st we'll win by 3+ goals. If we concede first we'll panic and lose the tie...

rwo power wrote:On the other hand, Schalke are always good for a surprise. Last season (without all the injuries) they won against Dortmund home and away, and this season they were one of only 3 teams that won against Bayer Leverkusen in the BL. With Schalke you never know what you get - you might see a debacle like against Bayern this season or a surprise win like against Inter in a recent CL run...Zealous wrote:Regardless of our ridiculously bad record in Germany, the real question is can Schalke avoid defeat at the Bernabeu? Not even Dortmund or Bayern can say that they have, so Schalke winning at home might not be enough.
If Draxler plays well we will sign him next summer. Raul has foretold this
I like Schalke, great club tbh.
All due respect to Inter but that's not us, I will honestly be shocked if we lose to Schalke at the Bernabeu. I wouldn't be surprised if Carlo was sacked then and there if it happened. Anything less than a win in Madrid would be a massive disaster imo.
If Schalke do go through it's because Madrid screw up in Germany which mind you wouldn't be the first time.

What is this prediction based on?
To start with you really believe you'll keep a clean sheet? If not, that means you'll have to score at least 4 goals at the Etihad (I'm assuming you're talking about the first leg) you really think that will happen?
Secondly if City score first that doesn't mean they win the tie, if anything I can see City getting complacent if they feel they won the game before the final whistle. They almost threw their game against Arsenal away because of the drop in concentration they had at 3-2.
I don't believe whoever scores first has the advantage in a game between these two teams. Mostly because they're set up to score goals, conceding a goal doesn't change their game plans. If City or Barca were counter attack teams then your prediction would be plausible but they aren't.

Re: Predict the last 8 of the CL
We have an awful record in Germany. We couldn't even win against the likes of Werder Bremen ffs
if we are not careful Schalke are going to put the tie beyond reach already in the first leg ala Dortmund no matter what sort of heroics we try in our home leg
Pelle is hundred percent going to play with five midfielders and it will be fun to watch yaya toure hustling himself past Busquets. inbeforesongplays
