Re: - El Rey León | Fernando Llorente #14
Llorente still improving at Juve
Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente is satisfied with his first six months as a Juventus player.
The forward joined the club in the summer from Athletic Bilbao on a Bosman free after his contract expired.
“I’m improving and happy to play for a great team,” Llorente stated after he grabbed his fifth League goal of the campaign at Atalanta.
“Everyone works for each other and helps out their teammates.
“It was hard against Atalanta,” he continued. “That is because they are very strong, especially at home.
“We stuck to the game plan throughout. Now we can enjoy our holidays in order to prepare as well as we can for Roma.”

Re: - El Rey León | Fernando Llorente #14
Watched the Atalanta game the otherday and had tears of joy over this mans goal.
It wasnt a special goal in the slightest, nor was it an important one but the way he recieved the ball, turned and slotted it in the far corner with a simplistic style was refreshing.
Been watching Vucinic, Matri and Quagliarella miss easier chances that my nan could score for far too long now.
Hope he stays with us for a long time. Lion King

Llorente expects a great Juventus
Fernando Llorente is keen for his Juventus side to showcase their Scudetto intentions when they entertain Roma.
The Old Lady are five points clear of the second-placed Giallorossi and he’s keen for that advantage to increase.
“We have now got some consistency,” the Spanish striker said as his outfit look for a tenth straight win in the championship. “We are showing that we want to win the League.
“We are a strong side, we are giving our all in every game and we want to play a great match against Roma.”
Llorente, a Bosman free signing from Athletic Bilbao, has scored five goals in 14 games for the Old Lady in Serie A.

Llorente shares Trez mentality
Fernando Llorente is impressed with Roma and tells fans he has “the same mentality as David Trezeguet.”
“The Giallorossi had a sensational start to the season and their form made it a bit difficult for us, but then we emerged and proved our great solidity,” Llorente told Sky Sport Italia.
“We want to put in a super performance against Roma. And that is exactly what we’ll do.”
Former Juve legend Trezeguet will be at the stadium to salute fans before kick-off tomorrow evening.
“We are certainly different players, but I have the same mentality as Trezeguet. We try to do our best by helping the team to win the League.
“David is a player who made history, whereas I have just arrived and still need to do so much in order to get his results.”
The Bianconeri’s campaign suffered a heavy blow with surprise Champions League elimination, but can be motivated by the fact the Europa League Final is at the Juventus Stadium in May.
“Juve can win the Europa League. It might not be at the same level as the Champions League, but I have experienced it and can say it’s not remotely easy. I want to win everything with Juve and am helping the team to achieve that.”

Llorente has 9 goals and 4 assists out of 21 games(16 starts)
Tevez has 12 goals and 6 assists out of 26 games(24 starts)
Llorente has a legit shout here imo. Also considering how difficult it was for him in his first few months at Juventus.(due to various reasons)

He's very very skillful for a big man. Holds the ball up very well which every striker we've had since ADP has failed to be consistent at.
I like his willingness for the team, he tries to play the passes and tee people up aswell as looking to turn and make smart runs in smart area's. Only thing I wish he would do more is try a few more shots instead of trying to link with Tevez 90% of the time.
He has a great shot so I think it would benefit him and us more to be a tiny bit more selfish infront of goal.
Gotta love how he takes the ball out of the air effortlessly whilst being marked by opposition. One of the best pieces of business Marotta has done for us

Not a great game from him and looked extremely fatigued out in later stages of the game, should've scored a clear cut 1 on 1 opportunity, but in the end he did his job what was required of him with a brilliant header on the 1st goal and i cant criticize him too much.

Yep, the only highlight of the game with him was the goal.S wrote:Not a great game from him and looked extremely fatigued out in later stages of the game, should've scored a clear cut 1 on 1 opportunity, but in the end he did his job what was required of him with a brilliant header on the 1st goal and i cant criticize him too much.
Other than that, he shud have scored and improved his control infront of goal

“The trouble is with Llorente it doesn’t matter how you mark him, he’s going to get the header, so you need to double up and protect the knockdown.”
