Let's be honest, no one is going to pay 25m+ for player that has been featured in less than half of our games and has clearly demonstrated he is not good enough to be a top striker for a top European team.   I don't like citing http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk for their prices, but they are valuing him at 14m.  He'll be 27 later this month, so it's not like he is going to suddenly become a top striker.  If Juve got 25m+ for Giovinco, I would carry him on my back to London.

Don't confuse what we paid for Giovinco a few years ago for his actual value.

Juventus shopping in Germany: Kempf says no, Trapp accepts

Di Marzio wrote:Juventus is looking in Germany to acquire some prospects for the future. Eintracht Frankfurt goal keeper Kevin Trapp, born in 1990, is considered one of the best goal keepers in Germany, he has accepted to join Juve who is trying to bring him to Turin in June so he can be mentored by Buffon. On the other hand his teammate Kempf, has turned down Juventus for the second time. The center back wants to remain in Germany rather than not finding much space at Juve or playing for their Primavera team. Juventus is shopping in Germany.

Verratti’s agent:”There was a deal with Juve, he is a fan of theirs”

Di Marzio wrote:Verratti’s agent Donato Di Campli was a guest on Speciale Calciomercato on Sky Sport, he once again talked about Verratti’s missed transfer to Juventus:”It isn’t a secret, Marco is a Juve fan- he said- there was an agreement between the player and Juventus, but the bianconeri never reached a deal with Pescara since a player refused to go there and Troisi’s wages were too high. Juventus then didn’t want to pay part of his contract, a detail Pescara didn’t accept. At the basis of this is fact they didn’t believe in the player. Napoli also made an important offer”

We made a big mistake here.Wish we had him now.

As long as we get him back at some point this was for the good of his development.

He never would have played over pirlo i guess no one will.

The initial idea was to sign him on co-own and send him back on loan to Pescara.

We're getting Pirlo to extend now but if Verratti was available and ready,i dont think we would've given him a contract extension.

The pint-sized Italian has not featured much for the League leaders this season and one of the player’s agents has reiterated that interest from Arsenal remains in place.

“There’s been a request for information but a deal is still far from being done,” Claudio Pasqualin has admitted to Calcissimo.com this week.

“It is logical that that the interest of a club like Arsenal is flattering and something to be proud of, but, once again, at the moment there are no negotiations underway between Juventus and the Gunners.

“Could Giovinco leave Juventus in January? Absolutely not, that hypothesis can be excluded.”

So far this season Giovinco has made just two starting appearances for Juventus, scoring once.

I would strongly consider selling him if the offer is anywhere near 12-15m.  Although, it may be improve our relationship with Italian clubs if we send him somewhere within Serie A.
We bought him for 12-15m.
I would sell him for 25m+ tbh... I still think he is good and useful
I would rather keep him though...
Noone will ever pay more than 10m for him. Selling him anywhere above 10 would be a great deal for us

Arsene Wenger insisted Arsenal are “not especially in for Mirko Vucinic” after links to the Juventus striker.

There have been consistent reports in Italian and English media over recent days that the Gunners are targeting Vucinic to strengthen their side after Theo Walcott’s season-ending injury.

It was rumoured the Bianconeri slapped a €12m price-tag on the Montenegro international hitman.

“We are looking at potential possibilities for us to get someone in, but we are not especially in for Vucinic,” Wenger told journalists after today’s 2-0 Premier League win over Fulham.

“Some people have visual capacities that I don't have. We are not on any special case. I would love to announce something that would excite you and me, but I don't have the possibility to do it.”

Juve to splash Vucinic cash

The Montenegrin striker looks likely to leave the Serie A champions and the Bianconeri are said to be set to spend the income from the transfer on a winger. Nani and Jonathan Biabiany are atop their wishlist for the role.

Report: Sporting KC turns down $1 million Juventus bid for 16-year-old American defender

Jan 24, 2014, 9:27 AM EST

The youngest active player in MLS will remain so… at least for now.

Those who pay attention to the rising young names in Major League Soccer have likely heard of Erik Palmer-Brown, and apparently so has the world. Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl is reporting that Juventus bid $1 million for the 16-year-old American defender.

Sporting KC has rejected the bid from “The Old Lady”, according to Wahl. Palmer-Brown became the youngest player in Sporting KC history back in August when he signed a professional contract. He’s the third Homegrown Player to sign a deal with KC, has represented the US at the U-18 level and, as Wahl states, was recently called into training with Tab Ramos’ U-20 side.

Palmer-Brown hails from Missouri and has been with Sporting KC since he was 11. Turning down $1 million is significant for any player, let alone a high-school aged kid, but the fact remains that not only would KC love to see the kid thrive in America, but they know his value will at-worst remain the same if not rise.

That might be a good trade if Nani can find his old form again. Would rather that then spend money on Nani. But if we do get him, I think we should still go for another RW so he can challenge Nani for the RW spot and so we can have depth.

There are reports in Brazil that Juventus have requested ex-Milan striker Alexandre Pato from Corinthians.

According to Uol Esporte, Juve directors have already been in contact with Corinthians to take The Duck on loan until the end of the season.

Pato left Milan in January 2013 after suffering from a series of injury problems and has to a certain degree rediscovered his form in Brazil, scoring 10 goals in 27 games.

Still only 24, Pato first arrived at Milan in 2007.

Marotta: 'Juve like Osvaldo'

Juventus chief Beppe Marotta confirmed “we like Dani Osvaldo” and will only sell Mirko Vucinic “if he asks to go.”

The general manager spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport at an event to commemorate club legend Gianni Agnelli at Palazzo Giustiniani this evening and opened up on some big transfer stories.

Sky Sport Italia are increasingly confident Juve will make a formal offer tonight for Southampton striker Osvaldo, who was suspended for attacking teammate Jose Fonte in a training session. They hope to take him on loan for €1.5m with an option to buy at the end of the season.

“We like Osvaldo and other clubs like him too,” commented Marotta. “He is an excellent player, but before buying anyone we need to sell.”

Vucinic had been on the verge of completing his transfer to Inter in exchange for Fredy Guarin when it was all called off at the last minute by Nerazzurri President Erick Thohir.

“Vucinic? He will leave only if he asks to go.”

Marotta was also asked about other stories hitting the headlines recently, including gossip around the future of Gianluigi Buffon’s marriage.

“Antonio Conte will soon renew his contract, there will be no problems with Andrea Agnelli. He can become our Alex Ferguson, even if in Italy a Coach isn’t quite a manager in the same way.

“Buffon is going through a difficult moment and has to divide the man from the athlete. I have no doubt he will manage it. He’s a great professional, our captain. He’ll beat away those blows.”

Pato agent: 'Juve bid is all true!'

Alexandre Pato’s agent has surprisingly confirmed “it’s true, we received a couple of offers from Italy, including Juventus.”

The former Milan striker left Serie A in January 2013 for Corinthians after a series of injuries and there were reports today Juve had requested him.

“It’s all true,” assured agent Gilmar Veloz to calcionews24. “We received a couple of offers from Italy, including one from Juventus.

“The Bianconeri wanted the player on loan with an option to buy, but Corinthians rejected the proposal.

“However, I don’t doubt Juve will go back on the attack for Pato in August.”

Still only 24, Pato has a contract with Corinthians until 2016 and his price-tag is thought to be in the region of €15m.

The original report of Juve’s interest in The Duck had emerged through Uel Sports.

Pato has scored 10 goals in 27 games for Corinthians.

Reports say that the talks Guarin - Vucinic might be reopen.

It all makes sense now. Marotta said 6 strikers are to much and that Osvaldo will come if we sell one. Vucinic in same day refuses moves to Arsenal and Valencia and tells he'll stay, he'll only move if the move is in Italy.

Meanwhile Inter bought the replacement they were going to take when Vucinic -Guarin was going to be done aka Hernanes.

It all makes sense after all it seems Guarin - Vuci will happen, that's why we are bringing OSvaldo

But the thing is, why do want to bring in another striker, why not a RW? Are we planning on selling Quags or Gio to get a RW? Or are we just going to try and sign one and keep our strikers?

Vucinic-Guarin back on?

Beppe Marotta and Marco Branca have reportedly met today, with talks over Mirko Vucinic and Fredy Guarin not ruled out.

Inter and Juventus were close to swapping the two players earlier this month before, prompted by fan protests, Nerazzurro chief Erick Thohir pulled the plug.

Whilst both players have been subsequently linked with moves elsewhere, Vucinic reportedly turned down interest from Valencia and Arsenal yesterday, whilst Guarin has been back training with Inter ever since.

However, on from the Colombian’s outburst on Twitter this morning, the Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter’s sporting director Marco Branca has held talks in Milan today with Juve director general Beppe Marotta.

Whilst the reason for these talks is unclear, the pink paper say that reigniting a possible swap for Vucinic and Guarin cannot be ruled out.
