Re: The Walking Dead II
Finally got around to watch the episode.
Very slow and repetitive dialogue with no character or plot developement would my summary. Well except for the cheap cliffhanger at the end.
I enjoyed the struggle to survive however, how they eat, travel and shelter - it wouldn't harm if they showed more of these moments.
All these characters staying together isn't helping either, it would be better if there were different arcs and spread in 2 episodes like they did in late S4. There's not enough time for everyone to even have a proper conversion - right now they share some words and then it's cut to two other characters, and on and on....
The preview for the next episode shows some action atleast in which this show thrives, because dialogue and character developement simply isn't their thing.

Re: The Walking Dead II
Did no one watch the last episode?
It was a good one, fast paced and there was some plot developement! Michonne, the voice of reason in the group nowadays, Rick almost got these guys killed by being over cautious but then I can hardly blame him after what he's been through.
The usual inconsistency, the biggest one atleast was Aaron's claim that in their place no voice goes out as to not attract walkers but when the group arrives they hear children laughing and playing from outside the walls lol.
Anyway, intrigued to know what kind of place this Alexandria Safe-Zone is.

I thought that at first but tbf he told Rick he'd find him a place in the community where Judith couldn't be heard outside the walls, but that was funny, that the first thing they hear are children playing and laughing lawl.
I'm curious about the people in the community, Aaron gave a BS reason for not having anyone in his photos so that's kind of worrisome. Plus, no people in the previews for the next episode...

Alexandria
Great episode. Can't blame Rick for what he did. After woodbury and cannibal town, it was natural to be that cautious. lmao at that punch Rick was amazing.
A lot of suspense and thriller in this one. Flare in that walker's eye lol.
Alexandria is perhaps the biggest part of the show since the prison. Some great arcs are to come in there along with probably the 2nd most important character in the comics. Can't wait.

Re: The Walking Dead II
Yeah great episode.
Though can't help but feel this is just another Woodbury and Terminus. Woodbury more tbh, because the group didn't stay long at Terminus, and from what RG said I guess they're gonna spend some time here.

Well tbf the group never actually stayed at Woodbury. This is their first time living with others.
And yea, they will spend at least 2 seasons in here or more.

What I meant is the Woodbury arc was longer.
And Andrea did spend some good time there, and the place got a lot of screen time, unlike Terminus.

Re: The Walking Dead II
Solid ep, started off slow but got better in the last half hour.
Get ready for Woodbury mk2, yawn. Rinse repeat, bet one of the mains get kidnapped, the group wage war against the community, a main gets killed as a finale then the group is back on the road again where they come across another untrustworthy character.
The problem of having too many characters was again evident in this ep. Carrol, Noah, Mullet man, Gabriel, lesbian chick all said about 10 words between them in the entire episode. Glorified extras basically. The writers need to do far better in getting them more involved.
Gay scene ofcourse to appeal to the gay demographic.
I don't trust either of them of course. We all know what's bound to happen eventually and it's so predictable.
Rosita= eye candy.
Solid episode compared to last week's disappointment.

Re: The Walking Dead II
I know thay need to find a new villain but I hope it comes from outside Alexandria. Let the Alexandria group be cool, introduce new interesting characters, and then find a way to bring the new big baddie into the mix. If not it would just be repetitive as hell.

Re: The Walking Dead II
When Walking Dead first started, I watched a few episodes and lost interest. I've seen maybe a dozen episodes from seasons 2 to 4, but now I've been hooked up and watched every episode of season 5 x)
Anyway, about this latest episode, I found it strange how desperately that guy Aaron wanted Rick's group to join their Alexandria community. Said all the right things, like it was heaven on earth. Surely there is a catch? That this Alexandria community need help or something? Like, if they have a hostile community nearby and Rick's group joins Alexandria, they are going to have to fight for the Alexandria community? I don't know, I just think there has to be a catch.
Then again, if RG has read the comics and reckons they'll stay here for a short eternity, maybe there's no catch in Rick's group going in there, just that drama will slowly unfold in the community over time.
I don't think there's too many characters in the group, but there's a big difference in their level of interest. I really like Abraham, Michonne and Daryl and find the priest quite interesting, too, but characters like Sasha and Maggie are dull and it feels like the writers don't even try to give them depth and intrigue.

Re: The Walking Dead II
Yeah I kind of feel there has to be catch in there somewhere somehow.
Now with Alexandria and new characters, character build up and arcs are even going to be tougher. Will be interesting to see where it goes from here.
Just hope it's nothing repetitive like elite said.

Started reading the comics... I'm in love!
So far it looks like Rick is the only character who is the same as in TWD. Everyone is different, especially Tyreese who is introduced much much earlier and is not a pussy tbh.

Tyreese is the Daryl of comics
@art
I stopped reading the comics after something big happened which pissed me off. It won't be till another season or so though.
But without spoiling, I'll just say that this will be nothing like Woodbury or Terminus. That's why this is considered the best arc of the series.

I feel like watching some episodes from the earlier seasons of which I haven't seen that much. What single episodes or clusters of episodes would people recommend?

Recently rewatched everything with my girlfriend, enjoyed going through it all again, re-witnessing the evolution of the Rickbeard and the Darylhair.
Can't go wrong with prison vs Governor arc, season 3-4, especially when the Governor comes back from that hiatus of his.

Imagine if the children laughing/playing noise is some fake audio from speakers to lure people in.

To do what with? If they wanted to kill outsiders it would be easier by other means. But I do hope there is a catch because otherwise Aaron's screenplay and acting has been simply awful. Like taking the audience for idiots. If there's no catch, the previous episode was just rubbish.
I watched the first episode of season one, had actually never seen it. A bit meh. I suppose the black dude and his son never made a reappearance?
I also downloaded and began to watch the first episode of season two, but realized I had seen that. Now been watching the last few episodes of season two.
