Stadium was silent for the whole first half, second was great. Essien was awful, Torres was good and I thought the 4-2-2-2 shape worked well

Agree with that. It really was quite a good performance. Take away that absolute gift and we were in complete control, against what are indisputably a quality side. Could have scored a couple more than we did, too. All in all an impressive bounceback from that trainwreck mid-week.

Three things really stood out to me tonight.

First: We're well and truely title contenders, I thought to myself before the game; 'if we want to win the EPL, we must win games like this.' And we did, great result.

Second: At one point we had Essien and Lampard in the pivot, if that isn't enough reason to buy a CM in Jan, I don't know what is, we need one, so badly. At this point I would take any one of so many people!

Third: Mata has to start, no ifs buts or maybes, Jose. Oscar is not the playmaker Mata is and Bran can handle the right wing on his own most of the time.

Great match, really entertaining.
