Premier League - Chelsea vs Southampton

On Wednesday, Chelsea take on Premier League strugglers Southampton at Stamford Bridge, in the postponed match from the week of the Club World Cup.

This same face-off took place 2 weeks ago as well, in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, with Chelsea thrashing the south coast club 5-1.

Both sides come off the back of impressive and important wins at the weekend, with Chelsea putting the demons of an embarrassing 0-2 defeat to Swansea in the League Cup behind them to demolish Premier League hard-men Stoke at the Britannia 4-0 to become the first side to win there in almost a year, and the first to ever score 4 goals there in the Premier League era. Southampton, too, secured a vital 3 points against an imploding Aston Villa.

Demba Ba made his Chelsea debut against Southampton 2 weeks ago,
and scored a brace to commemorate the occasion

Missing for Southampton are Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, and Jose Fonte, while Chelsea will be without Oriol Romeu, as well as John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses, who are currently serving international duty with Nigeria at the African Cup of Nations.

Mum was in hospital. Missed the match. Was able to siphon the hospital wifi though luckily. Got excited when I saw 2-0....should have known we'd piss it away :facepalm:
