Xavi keeps saying this since he started playing professional football. Glad people are coming to their senses now and get his point.

Re: Champions League: Match-day 6
I agree on many things, as everton full backs dominated in the entire game and Gibbs shouldve never left to face a mild 2 vs 1... still you can see in this pictureZealous wrote:Adit wrote:Zealous wrote:
Gibbs was afraid Delolfu would pass to Coleman who was overlapping.
Szczczc is one at fault imo, at least more than Gibbs.
if cole man was overlapping then shouldnt Gibbs position even more towards the wings???
There was enough players (like 5 or 6 players) in the center... He couldnt even cover the second post, top players wouldve covered the entire post.
No way that was szesznys fault. I play GK, i can confirm.
No, it was a 2v1 in it's purest form. Koscielny and Mertesacker had to stick to Lukaku, leaving only one defender on him in the last minutes was out of the question.
The ball then fell to Delolfu who had Coleman in support, if Gibbs pushes towards Coleman he gives Delolfu a much better angle to shoot. If he sticks to Delolfu too tightly Coleman will be free to cross the ball in front of the face of the goal.
Everton's fullbacks were giving Arsenal a difficult time the entire game, at that time Gibbs absolutely had to be aware of Coleman. I play fullback, i can conform the fullbacks overlap so defenders have to divide their attention between the winger and the fullback.
Delolfu shoots with barely any angle, Szczcz even touches the ball, he has to do better there. Also I believe Rosicky should have been covering Coleman but he was off in the centre somewhere.

Delefeu wasnt going to get a clear shooting angle through the center as both Rozza and Koscienley wouldve reached and blocked. The entire danger was in wings and Gibbs should have positioned more towards wings it wouldve prevented the goal and wouldve also easy to reach and block cross from coleman. Gibbs placed him too much inside as if it was a 1vs 1 when it wasnt actually.

Oh my god, could you imagine what it would have been like if Xavi were playing today in Turkey?

Can't see UEFA allowing said match to continue if Barcelona were involved and if they did, Xavi would have a rant equal to Kayne's rant on, well, everything he ever talked about.

Exactly. Xavi would just quickly phone up Blatter and sort it out. Game would be moved to Camp Nou tbh. Just how it should be.

I expect Ajax, and football to prevail tonight. No Serie A teams in the knockouts. Tough groups though.

As the words of antibarca, the pitch is same for both.Forza wrote:In all seriousness though, I don't think the Gala - Juve game should've ever gone ahead on that pitch. UEFA will surely look into that.

You're all catching on to the whole Juve hosting Europa situation a bit late
Juve fans were making EL final jokes before it was cool.
