Dribbling Statistics & Analysis

The players are ranked by dribbles per game in the 2013/2014 season. I've also highlighted the dispossession turnover per game statistic.

Yea Harmonica is right. Turnover is when you lose the ball while attempting a dribble. Dispossession can be when you are just standing without doing anything.

The ridiculous amount of Bundesfodder players on this list completely outnumbering the rest of the Leagues combined suggests these stats are both inflated and inaccurate.
That's why I don't take statistics in football serious. Everything aside from goals/assists in pointless to me.

How does Opta collect these stats? They have staff counting dribbles and turnovers for each game?

Arent they both relevant? if you are just standing and lose the ball it means you did not protect the ball well, you didn't react to the defender as you should have done.
