Some Early Thoughts On Next Season

I think most of us know that this year is largely a stop-gap in terms of personal until after the world cup. Players like Schwarzer and Eto'o are unlikely to be around next season and I feel that players like Lampard will play an even smaller role next season. I also believe we'll see players like Moses, Marin and perhaps a few more leaving the club.

Since it will be after a world cup, I feel we should take on a few more youngsters and finally give a proper chance to Lukaku, Kalas, Chalobah and Courtois. Van Ginkel will be somewhat of an unknown now, Rather frustrating. While I'd love for him to slot back in, I feel perhaps a 6-month loan to Holland (perhaps Ajax) would be great for him.
We should be looking to buy minimal players, I'd like to see: Shaw (loan-back) and a Ba replacement with selling Ba, of course. Perhaps a CM too, Unless Jose ( I assume he'll still be here) wants to keep using Ramires.

I think the key will be making sure that Courtois is in our squad next season. Otherwise we will lose him.

Anyway, I think Mourinho will bring back Courtois next season too and have him and Cech compete for time (for better or worse...). I think some reinforcement in CM will be done, and as per Mou's comment over the summer (grain of salt, albeit), Chalobah could be a part of the first team to add to that area as well starting next year. Also wouldn't put it past Red Rom to try a triple-swoop and get rid of JT, Lamps and Cole (all of whose contracts expire at the end of this season...) all in one summer...

I don't think we'll see JT leave tbh, Cole could if we think Bertrand or Shaw could step up. I forgot Lampard's contract ends, Perhaps we won't see him next season. Shame about MVG, it really could have been his year next year.

I agree with most of what you've written Kick.

Next season would be full of difficult decisions. Finding the perfect CF, the Courtois Issue, the return of all the loanees.

If Lukaku continues his form, it should be him, without a doubt.

Some of the loanees will be very interesting. What will we do with Kakuta, Piazon, Romeu, Moses, Marin and the likes?

I hope so. And it could be the end of Torres (we can always dream)

Kakuta and Co. would be the dilemma. I reckon we might have a clear out. The way I see it many of these young players aren't exactly looking like that they'll be first teamers any time soon. I wouldn't be surprised with the business mindset of the board they might have been just developing these players we got on the cheap only to sell them off for a profit

I doubt we'll see Torres go. I can only hope we relegate him to third choice CF.
