Quagliarella Q&A
Fabio Quagliarella replied to fan questions about his favourite goals, why Diego Maradona ruined his first game and his acting dream.
“If stranded on a desert island, I’d choose to be left with Simone Pepe, as at least I’d be sure of having some laughs,” replied the Juventus striker in a Twitter Q&A.
“My favourite goals were the overhead kicks against Chievo and Pescara, plus the backheel flick against Udinese in my first year at Juve.
“One word to describe Juventus? That is not enough, so I’ll need at least two: Winning mentality. How is Antonio Conte different to other Coaches? He is an exceptional motivator.”
The forward was asked about his lack of playing time with the Italy squad, particularly leading up to the World Cup.
“The Nazionale can never be a closed chapter. I always hope and will do everything to deserve it. What would I do for the winning goal against Real Madrid? A double training session with Conte, so it’d really hurt... But it has to be decisive!
“What’s the most fun thing I’ve ever done? I am quite reckless, so jet-skis are pure fun for me. I also really like amusement parks. I don’t play any other sports, but I like to watch Formula 1. Forza Ferrari!
“If I wasn’t a football player, I’d like to be an actor... It wouldn’t be bad to star in cinema! When I hang up my boots I’d like to stay in football. Perhaps I could be a Coach at youth level.”
The lifelong Napoli supporter reveals his first game at the San Paolo was somewhat ruined.
“I was five years old. Maradona was meant to play, but at the end he didn’t and I was really upset. My idols when I was young were Vincenzo Montella, who is from Naples like me, and Andriy Shevchenko.
“The best players I’ve worked with are too many to name in 140 characters. Del Piero, Pirlo, Di Natale, Buffon, etc...
“If I had to describe myself in three words, I’d say generous, extrovert and impulsive.”
