Have Juventus found Pirlo's long term replacement?

Bear with me for a minute. I think Benzema can be the next regista. He is good at linking up, good passing and already drops so far into mf that he sometimes looks like an anchor man. Pirlo started out as a trequartista and Scholes started off as a striker/SS. Could Benzema be the next to follow?

TBH, no.

Benzema is too slow in his movements to play the regista role. One of the things that makes Pirlo awesome is his quick movements. Here's an example:



Did you see how quick he was there? I don't think good lad Karim would be able to do that tbh. And you need that burst of pace in Pirlo's role when you get pressed and I don't find Benzema capable of that.

The thing is players like Pirlo are a dying breed. The closest to him Veratti and even Veratti is more like Xavi. Really doubt Juve can truly get a direct replacement for Pirlo. What Conte needs to do is tweak his tactics in the future. Benzema, Pirlo and Pogba are three very different players. A Benzema-Vidal-Pogba midfield looks scary, all of them can attack and defend really well. Karim is the weakest attacker out of the three and he can rotate with Marchisio. When Juve needs some defensive steel they can field Karim, when they are in need of some attacking impentus they can play Marchisio. Juve should put in a bid for Benzema as soon as this winter.



As the heat map above from a recent game shows, Benzema has magnificent positional sense. He sticks to his job on the centre of the pitch and can easily shield the defence while Vidal and Pogba go up front and when has the ball on his feet, he can put in some great balls from a bit further up. His excellent work rate is beautifully represented in this diagram, see the right side of the pitch. Benzema is a willing hard worker and tries to help out his team's fullbacks whenever he can, with Juve employing wingbacks, Benzema can cover for them if they are caught out in their flanks. Some Juve fans complained of not buying a LWB this summer, buying Benzema will make the need for a LWB practically disappear, he can even cover for Lichsteiner when Lich is injured or suspended with Marchisio slotting in the midfield.

Marotta should waste no time in getting him.

Never rated benz, he looks out of place at real and they should of replaced him with cavani in the summer transfer market
