I wish to Manage Liverpool
http://twentyfour7football.com/gerrard-dreams-of-managing-liverpool-15685
Gerrard, 33, recently signed a new two-year contract with the Anfield club and is currently focusing on helping England qualify for next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
However, the midfielder has started planning for life after his playing days come to an end and is planning on doing his coaching badges over the next year.
Will he be manager fantastic
Gerrard, 33, recently signed a new two-year contract with the Anfield club and is currently focusing on helping England qualify for next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
However, the midfielder has started planning for life after his playing days come to an end and is planning on doing his coaching badges over the next year.
Gerrard in a short interview wrote:“The dream come true would be to manage Liverpool, when the Liverpool job becomes available,” the England captain told twentyfour7 Football magazine.
“There are world-class managers there already, but we’ll have to wait and see, it would be the icing on the cake. When you get to a certain age, my age, you need to start thinking seriously about a life after football.
“I am planning on doing my badges and qualifications over the next 12 months. I definitely see myself as a manager rather than a coach, but that could change.
“I remember speaking to Jamie Carragher and he really fancied it but he’s decided media is what he wants to do. It’ll be strange seeing him on Sky but I’m really delighted he’s doing it. He can leave managing Liverpool to me!”

Not right away, it wouldn't, but have him serve as a coach for the rest of BR's 15 years, and he'll be ready.

Great to hear
But here's hoping for Rodgers to stay here for the foreseeable future.

Gerrard will play for another 3 years or so. He's not talking about managing now.
With that said, Rodgers to open up a "boot room" like Shanks and take Stevie under his wing?

Re: I wish to Manage Liverpool
I know what you were referring to. 'Boot' is also a reference to fighting in some cultures, so with all 3 of Carra, Stevie, and Hyypia declaring their desire for the job in the future, there's sort of a cynical meaning to 'Boot Room' as well, which I sarcastically tried to point out. Seems as though it just flew over your head and now me explaining the whole thing makes it NOT funny at all

I would love it if he had a Beckenbauer/Rummenigge like role that they have at Bayern with us. Some sort of a chairman of football role.

Re: I wish to Manage Liverpool
If Rodgers have a good season, I don't see him moving for a long time. If Hyypia continues what he did last season, he will be a much sought-after manager in 2-3 years. IMO, Gerrard would be best suited for DoF/S or marketing. Carragher will start with youth team and we will have see how that pans out.

Re: I wish to Manage Liverpool
Hopefully Hyypiä will have some money to spend next summer at Leverkusen. Despite selling Schurrle for €20m and qualifying for the CL, Leverkusen's only major signing was Son for a club record €10m and then a couple of players for 1m-2m. I'd like to see what he could do if he had, say, €20m + sales to spend.

Re: I wish to Manage Liverpool
Hyypiä is doing a great job in the circumstances in which he is managing. If he manages to finish third this season, it will be a great achievement for him.

I appreciate that Gerrard has planned to complete some qualifications during this year. I dont think it is quite easy to manage week in-out football plus such extra things.
