Marouane Fellaini’s first match action after becoming a Manchester United player will be for Belgium in their World Cup qualifier against Scotland on Friday.
Fellaini is one of 10 Barclays Premier League-based players in a strong 24-man squad for the game against Gordon Strachan’s men at Hampden Park.
The unbeaten Red Devils lead Group A by three points ahead of Croatia and will take a step closer to automatic qualification for Brazil 2014 with victory over Scotland, who have only pride to play for after winning just one of their seven games so far.
Fellaini scored in Belgium’s last qualifier, a 2-1 home win over Serbia in June, to take his international tally to seven goals in 42 appearances.
The 25-year-old midfielder is set to link up with his new United team-mates at the Aon Training Complex for the first time following the international break next week, and could be in line to make his Reds debut against Crystal Palace on 14 September.

Carrick about midfield duo with Fellaini wrote:"It was good to play with him. He’s a real presence in there," Carrick told MUTV. "You could see tonight that he’s such a dominant player and he gives us something that we haven’t had and that’s exactly what you want – options in the squad.
"Sometimes you want to play different ways and he gives us that option. There’s no point in having similar players. He’s fitted in well and settled in great. He’s a top player and we want as many of those that we can get."
"Tonight gives us a lot of confidence going into Sunday. As a package it was a polished all-round performance,"
"We’ve had a stop-start beginning to the season and people have been asking questions as normal. Tonight we got a good performance and result. We really meant business, we knew how important it was to get the result and thankfully we did that."

Not only Inter did NOT qualify for the CL, they finished 6th and then 9th in the league, bravo!
Now scram, loser.
How does it work? I mean you already read it first before mentioning that meaningless avatar.

Was so predictable he was going to get sent off after he recieved a yellow card. Kept giving away silly fouls. He needs to learn that in Europe you don't get away with the same type of challenges you would in England.

Re: Marouane Fellaini
He was bad tonight, but I thought the likes of Valencia were worse who has been bad for about 18 months now. I know SAF used to rotate a lot but our squad depth is so shit right now. Who cares if the likes of Ashley Young complain about a lack of playing time. Which I doubt he will, he's probably happy with 110k a week.

Picked up an injury. Could be out for 4-6 weeks.
Means we can't sell him now
We only have Fletcher, Cleverley and Herrera
We're stuck with him
I just can't....
Deserves another

Kristof Terreur @HLNinEngeland
Fellaini will get the results of the final scans today. Still fears he could be out for a long time due to a ligament/tendon injury. #MUFC
If it's that bad, he could be out until next year.
We lack numbers, we need a CM bad, Carrick out til October too.

A redcafe post :
tbf we fans were becoming a bit of a-holz when it comes to this lad now when we think about it.
Seriously.. what must have gone through him. To be jeered by our own fans. We were guilty to an extent.
I have a huge respect for him now; for his attitude.
Unlike someone like a chicharito or a welbluck... . he didnt compalin, even once. Unlike all those bleeps who left us.. he was playing for the club and was genuinely wanting to help us win matches.
He too deserve a second chance. Now I dont know about schitty game next week, He may play well or may be not, and if he fail I think we should be backing him too like all our players.
I am jumping into Fellaini bandwagon.. Anyone else ?? The real hero .. main man Fellaini
Phil Neville stated both him (Fellaini) and his Dad were buzzing over the moon when he signed on deadline day, imagine how he must have felt getting jeered by our own fans (twats) in that friendly game? I'm incredibly happy for Fellaini, never gave up, never sulked or talked shite to the press, he simply got on with his job and now he's taken his chance and is flying, good on him.

Re: Marouane Fellaini
Tbh, pissed me off when he got booed vs Valencia. I don't think any player should get booed for their performances, I think the only time a player should get booed is if they do something disrespectful to the club, like when Heinze wanted to go to Liverpool.
Anyway, Fellaini ain't a bad fella he said something like this last season, 'If CR refused to come to Utd, that's too bad for him'
He's like Anderson to me, I like his character, he seems funny.
Fellaini isn't the first player to try fight for his place though, Nani and Kagawa did too, unfortunately sometimes it just doesn't work out. I really hope the Chelsea game is just the beginning for him, but it doesn't always end brightly. Sometimes it does, like Fletcher for example. Maybe, Mata can have the same turnaround, because I like him too.

Re: Marouane Fellaini
yea.
I think the root cause of people not rating him is because of the moyish factor. They associate him with the clueless one. So his bad performances are put under the magnifying glass and everyone thrashes the guy, without actually introspecting whether the criticism is legit or not.
I havent seen any other player who has taken this much stick. may be young, cleverly and all would have gotten brickbats from the fans but those cases now when we think about its appearing they were different. Those criticisms arose only after being behind those players for quite some time and only when figuring out they were not enough good for us. But sadly when it came to fellaini, he was bombed from the word go.
But then again he was poor last season, his form was off, he wasnt fit plus the funniest thing was moyes the manager who managed him at everton didnt even know his best position and put him as a defensive midfielder for us.
He was a beast for everton and especially that last season for them he was ripping apart teams. Now if he can repeat that...
But having said that I too think he wont be a grand success and all here. But van gaal is the best thing to be happening for him I think. The 'horses for courses' approach will suit him.

Re: Marouane Fellaini
Fellaini is the lasting image of the Moyes era we have, that's the problem
but his performances and price tag weren't helping him either...
glad he is showing some value now and proving to be a useful member of the squad
and i am one to admit I was on the Anti Fellaini train long before he signed for us, back when the rumours began before the summer he came i was saying he wouldn't fit at United...but if he proves me wrong good on the lad.

Re: Marouane Fellaini
Tbh, not wanting Fellaini was fair. His best position was as an attacking midfielder in a hoof ball team, and we needed a CM, not only was he not worth £30 mil as a CM, but he wasn't worth £30 mil as an AM either. The price wasn't his fault, though.
Bar, the game vs Leverkusen last season, he didn't show any quality at all, no real moments last season which makes harder it to believe he had something about him.
Right now, I'm cautiously optimistic, because Ashley Young has been able to pull off some very good performances, then end up playing shite again.
For me, if Fellaini can become a good squad option, and play well against certain top teams when we need physicality, I'll call it a success. Even though, he cost £30 mil, because like I said before, that wasn't his fault.
