How highly do you rate Marek Hamsik?

Couldn't watch the game but Hamsik is very good. He had a rough patch under Benitez (like everyone does) but now he is back to dominating the midfield.

Would have been even crazier if he showed up for the rest of the match. Especially one that didn't end up with a goal. He was very poor.

Maybe fraud was too strong of a word ... But outside of the firs 3 minutes, I notice him turnover the ball more than make dangerous forward passes. No through ball to try to cut Wales open, No running at the defenders, or starting a quick counter.

He was playing deep, not sure if his role was to just connect the defense and their toothless attack. But he didn't play that well. Tried to dribble pass defender too deep and got disposed which lead to Wales countering. A casual fan would not know he was one of the best AM Serie A.

For the record, Hamsik doesn't play attacking midfield at club level anymore, he's been moved into central midfield in Sarri's 4-3-3. Granted, Napoli are a very attack minded side but he's quite a different player to when he was used up front behind Cavani and Lavezzi when Mazzari was coach.

Wasn't able to watch this game however so can't comment on his performance against Wales or his role within the Slovakia side.

Hamsik is an excellent player. He is underrated.

This does justify him earlier observation against Wales though. Finally seeing him attack and make plays from CM. Especially the lop to Weiss for the first goal.

Could have easily scored the two best goals of the tournaments if it weren't for that POS welsh defender .

He's gone in the summer, to Dalian Yifang, Carrasco's team in China.

Still only 31 huh, haven't heard much about him in a couple seasons but he was consistent for many years.

He was excellent until last season. Decline started last year and this one he is finished at top level.

sucks, I remember him being linked to the PL a few years ago but always struck me as a player that would end his career in Naples

something tells me it'll be a short stint in China and then a return to a mid table Serie A club
