Re: Chelsea's AMs puzzle
Do you really expect an Abramovich signing not having a guaranteed place in the first team?

Re: Chelsea's AMs puzzle
This cliche really needs to go. I'm sure you also expect Torres to start every gameurbaNRoots wrote:Do you really expect an Abramovich signing not having a guaranteed place in the first team?
The relationship between Roman & Jose right now isn't the same as 2004. Jose will bench Willian when he likes and Roman wouldn't flinch. I don't need to convince you any further. Just look out for it.

Re: Chelsea's AMs puzzle
Torres did start almost every game despite being shit for 2 seasons straight
He found a new guy now, doesn't care about Torres anymore. We will see, I believe he's going to start because he's a quality player aswell and not only because Abramovich wants so.

DeBruyne was awesome in his debut when he got the start over Mata...urbaNRoots wrote:Eto'oBench: Schwarzer(?), Azpilicueta, Cahill; van Ginkel; Oscar/Mata, Schürrle; Torres;

de Bruyne stays for depth (deluded prick thought he would get playing time), Moses sold/loaned out, Ba sold, Lukaku depth.

Well, maybe the Mata talk is real then. It would make much more sense.

Lol, Great example.Blue Barrett wrote:LOL this isn't Liverpool mateNishank wrote:Mass clear out from Chelsea within two years unless they win the PL and CL.
We've had Torres for 3 seasons now. What does that tell you? Besides, they're all young. No one expects them to win the PL & CL within 2 years. Relax.
Tell me the amount of competition ( Ba?, Lukaku?, Kalou? ) he had during those 3 years.
What does that tell you? Nothing.
They are all young, That's why, Making 20 appearances over 3 years aint gonna keep you all these players.

Re: Chelsea's AMs puzzle
Torres was benched so many times by Drogba(albeit an average Drogba). You're going to act like that never happened? He only really had his freedom last season.Nishank wrote:Lol, Great example.Blue Barrett wrote:LOL this isn't Liverpool mateNishank wrote:Mass clear out from Chelsea within two years unless they win the PL and CL.

One or two players may be sold(like Moses) but "mass clear out" is never going to be the case. That's the bottom line.

Re: Chelsea's AMs puzzle
OMGGG 2 players one position?
Obviously you still are on the wrong example.
Mass clear out is possible and is very likely, How many players do you think will be content with a total 20 appearances that too not starts in 2 seasons, These guys are not 18-19, Unless you assume you have already won the next two PL, CLs and FA cups.

Re: Chelsea's AMs puzzle
We're not talking about the number of players in a position, so to speak. We're talking about the number of opportunities each player gets. Yes or yes? I brought up the Torres example because he was benched a lot at one point and sometimes went 3 games without playing or only just making 10 minute cameos. Fans were crying out for him too, but that's beside the point.Nishank wrote:OMGGG 2 players one position?

Once again, there will be NO mass clear out. Do you realise what you're saying? Mass clear out a.k.a sell every one of the 7 players with just one or two left? You're dreaming.
May I point out once again that you stop judging this from a Liverpool perspective? I don't know how many matches your lot played last season but we played 69 or so iirc. The only difference now is, there will be no CWC(which was about 3 matches anyway). Everyone is going to get much more than "20 or so" appearances THIS season, much less 2 seasons combined.

Re: Chelsea's AMs puzzle
Why do people bring the other persons club into perspective in a normal discussion, Seriously people not only here but everywhere need to stop that, Its so annoying and unrelated.
I am assessing a realistic situation which has a chance of happening. You played 69 games yes, But that was one season.

1. Chelsea have NEVER had a situation like that before. Most of our players over the last 15 years stay up to 3 seasons at least.
2. Liverpool had a "mass clear out" of most of their 2011(?) signings recently. Carroll, Downing, Adam. They're all gone, so I'm assuming you're taking that as normal logic.
To be clearer; Hazard, Oscar, Mata(yes, Mata) and De Bruyne especially aren't going anywhere any time soon. I can see one of Schurrle or Willian staying for a while as well. That's already most of the players we're talking about.
Believe it or not, there will be no "mass clear out."

^It appears so, though nothing is confirmed yet. The news outlets are saying Jose is keeping it a secret so he can keep Rooney unsettled at United until after Tonight's match.

Re: Chelsea's AMs puzzle
Willing to bet money he goes for 3 in Midfield and only 2 spots are available for these guys...and even if he don't..then I think you have to add Lampard to the mix...because I doubt he plays as part of a midfield 2 all that much.
Lucky for them there's games to go around, and they're all sort of young. Mata will want to feature though, because he can get dropped from the WC squad at any time. Doesn't have the comfort of being a Del Bosque guy, and has more competition than anyone else.

My guess is he'll switch to 4-3-3 and a couple of the AM's will switch to CM's
Anyone's guess who gets switched though.

I honestly have no idea what we're trying at.
Our AM's were fine before Willian, we just needed a CF.
