Will we ever see a PL winner outside North West and London in our lifetime?
Every team that have won the modern PL are from North West(MU, MC, Blackburn) or London(Chelsea, Arsenal)
I just dont think we'll ever see a winner outside of these 2 regions in our lifetime. Thats sad.
Maybe if a Sheikh buys a club, but it looks like PL are gonna make some FFP-rules, so that cant happen.

Also only 5 teams have won the PL since it got renamed and there have been 46 teams in the PL in total since then why don't we laugh about the other 41 while we are at it also.

If we didn't choke harder than Brett Favre on 4 seperate occasions you already would have
Anyway its not that surprising North West and London make up the large majority of teams in the league.

In our life time im sure we will, but you cant imagine anyone outside of the Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spuds winning the league over the next ~10 seasons unless something really drastic were to happen

We're still a bigger club than both Everton and City combined. Wrong choice of wording my friend. We may not be better than them now but we're still comfortably bigger.B-Mac wrote:because you're theMcAgger wrote:Led by the greatest Liverpool legend of all timeB-Mac wrote:the fact Blackburn have a PL title and Liverpool don't

As for the rest, I don't care, you can laugh about us not winning the PL yet as there simply aren't any possible excuses for that.

Saying Liverpool has never won the prem is like saying, BVB has never won the UCL sponsored by Heneiken.
Just saying

Well, it's the big towns where the big clubs come from with big fan bases and big revenues, so if we are going to see PL champions from outside the mentioned territories, I guess it has to be Newcastle or why not Birmingham or Leeds or Sheffield.

Like Mole said, Newcastle had the biggest chance with like 13 points ahead of Utd back in 96 and then completely bottled it.

I seem to remember Norwich being about five/six games from victory in the inaugural PL season and blew it. Newcastle came close once. Leeds might have had they not had morons in charge who made stupid financial gambles.
Unless some silly sheikh or oddball oligarch buy a club outside of the NW/London then I don't see it happening anytime soon.

It's possible, as a club like Newcastle could get bought and become like Man City.

Sugar Daddy i don't mind but not to that extent.
I would look quite the hypocrite for calling a Chelsea and City nothing clubs.
And then we go and do the same, i don't believe we need a sugar daddy to be competitive.
Just an owner who has ambition and knows what he's doing by hiring managers who have a clue.
Spurs are what we should be, except we have a much bigger stadium.
The difference is Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis are ambitious people, Ashley only cares about staying in the league.

Why are Chelsea/Man City nothing clubs? Not every club has to have won 10 CL's, 100 EPL's in the 1800's in order to be called a proper club. It is possible to start being an elite club in 2013.

They exist today to simply entertain mega wealthy foreigners who use them as play things. On appearance they may seem secure, but there exists no foundation. You take away the money the owner pumps in that props the club up and it'll collapse.Yohan Modric wrote:Why are Chelsea/Man City nothing clubs? I doubt they'd collapse. They'd probably return to being a midtable club.
Also I doubt the clubs care if the owners use them as play things, as long as they're winning trophies and succeeding, that's all that counts.

What i meant by nothing clubs.... is that they have no history at all until their oil money.
I don't want to be the same, we may will never win anything again otherwise but meh.

I'm really no ManCity fan, but calling Bert Trautmann "no history" is a bit insultingGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:What i meant by nothing clubs.... is that they have no history at all until their oil money.
