Isla move still possible – agent

Juventus have taken Mauricio Isla off the transfer market, but his agent thinks a potential move to Inter is still alive.

The two clubs did hold negotiations about the transfer of a player who is co-owned with Udinese, but the Old Lady opted against closing the deal.

“I don’t know what will happen,” the wing-back’s agent Claudio Vagheggi told Sport Italia. “Football is unpredictable.

“They are saying that he will remain at Juventus, but you never know right up until the very last minute. We’re working.”

The Chilean joined the Old Lady from Udine a year ago, but he had a problematic first season in Turin.

Having returned to action after serious knee ligament damage, the 25-year-old appeared in just 11 League games for La Signora.

seems like the agent is pushing for the move

We shouldn't help Inter unless they want to pay what we paid for Isla's 50%. I think we need Isla anyways and he deserves a second chance now that he has had a full year to recover from his knee surgery.

I wouldn't even bother negotiating with Inter anyway unless it was some player swap like the two Milanese sisters do from time to time.


And we don't want/need any single player they possess.

In short, helping Inter doesn't actually help us, we won't miss 5M euros.

I would do a straight swap of Isla-Ranocchia, or Isla-Kovacic; Conte knows him well from their time in Serie B with Arezzo, he's already played with Bonucci for Bari. Kovacic on the other hand, looks to be a player with a sparkling future, worth the risk

Unfortunately that Rano deal can't/won't happen for a couple of reasons

1) They value him extremely highly, they were quoted as wanting something like 25M for him

2) Isla is only co-owned by us, so we'd have to buy Udineses half to even try to swap him. Which means we'd be spending money regardless.

Kovacic, I like the look of. However, they won't be wanting to see him go anywhere so quickly, especially not to us. Because long-term they obviously want to be back at the top, and we're the biggest rival in that sense. Obviously short term they're more concerned with Udinese etc .
