may be he is going the Bale way.
in the couple or so occasions i saw him last season in the league, he showed some promise when he was going forward especially in the opposition box. The lad was fast did some decent tricks with the ball and even scored and assisted if i remember correctly.
True he was all over the place whilst he was defending even then. He lacks that composure which is needed in a defender i guess. His tackling sometimes was decent but he sure was reckless on more than one occasions.
So with Moyes's guidance may be if he can be converted to a role more suited to his style of play, may be to a left offensive mid or a left winger (a spot which at the moment we as a mater of fact have got some crisis considering the poor form of Young and co.), like Bale did, he will be far more useful to the team may be. Just my observation. Not sure though.

Your observation is good though it wouldn't be the best decision to use him as a winger because that position is already crowded with a lot of players.

Buttner should watch his ass, I don't see him very well if he continues with bad performances. We have Fabio and he is showing great football at the moment.

Yea we have the quantity in terms of wingers, but the quality at the moment is not satisfactory. Apart from Zaha, Welbeck ( more of a striker), and Kagawa (more of a central role), all other wingers are having a very ordinary run i mean Young, Nani, Valencia.
Zaha will automatically make his way into the starting lineup on the right i believe provided Valencia drastically improve and provided we wont loan him out definitely. But on the left side, the quality is lacking. So even if we are crowded there, that crowd is simply a crowd in my opinion hmm

In my opinion Buttner on the left wing would be somewhere at Valencia's level (in an optimistic scenario). Anyway, he wouldn't be able to be a first XI player.

If he need to stay in the team something of that sort must be done. Some kinda tweaking in his position.otherwise the guy will be kicked out soon if he continue playing as a back where he will make mistakes .

If we don't consider Rio's testimonial a friendly game, tomorrow we will play our last pre-season friendly against AIK, a swedish football team.

Wayne Rooney is expected to be available for this game as are Nani, Valencia and Vidic.

I'd like to see these 4 players in action because they need more minutes played before the start of the season.

An easy win, a game for fitness, a public training, this is how I see tomorrow's match. It is important to rotate players and give them the possibility to prepare for more important clashes. I'd go with the best XI for the first half. Of course that in the second half Moyes could try some new tactics, he must exploit this last oportunity, this last friendly game of the summer.
