On the other hand, everybody and their mom will do their utmost to try and defeat the "Super Bayern" with Pep at the helm and likely give 150 percent. I think it will not be half as easy for Bayern as many people thought in May.

Not what I was going for but I can dig it. I doubt Barca face Bayern again this season though, too many things have to line up for that to happen.

I'm not denying jack shit. Until Barcelona it was done in seasons. Football isn't tennis, i couldn't give a damn about the trophies in a calendar year. So by that foolish logic United won the quadruple in 08 and a quadruple in 99. Are you kidding me? A sextuple would have happened if Barcelona and Bayern did it in A SEASON not a CALENDAR year. I won't recognize it so I don't care. Never recognized it when the media kept hyping it just like i never cared that inter won a supposed quintuple... Football is seasonal ffs. But as usual you have fan boys trying to make exceptions...

I think you guys are being pedantic. The supercups are often played before the official season actually starts and you have to win the CL to get to the CWC. I dont blame the press and fans for calling it a sextuple.

That being said I can see the one season aspect. It is definitely wrong to claim that Pep won a sextuple in a season.

The sextuple was a hype considering no one else ever did it before. Everyone has their point that the league super cup, UEFA cup, and CWC are played the following season however BC is correct that those competition are open after winning either the double or a treble the following season. I believe those are still the past season success rather then current. Either FIFA/UEFA decides to hold those contest before giving the players a break which would be unfair for the team that wins the competition, as they will miss out on holidays or they bring it into preseason when teams return to action which they're currently. Jibers has a point, but its something that I don't see happening to be honest. In his case he'd like a team to win a CL and league, or even the CdR/DFB to get to the tournaments, then the next season win all those titles followed by the treble which I believe will be a mission for any team to do. A treble itself is hard to come around all tho recently we've seen it a lot recently.

Trebles and quadruples where used before the wikipedia was invented. Football is a seasonal sport, it's just common sense....
