Summer pre season & friendly thread
Where are your teams off to and who are they playing.
Sunderland are all over the place this year.
Starting off with a training camp in verona on July 5th where we will play friendlies with Athletico and Inter.
Then we head off to Hong Kong for the Asia trophy with Spurs, City and South China FC.
Visiting South Africa also at some point.

Re: Summer pre season & friendly thread
We're off to Asia again this summer. We're in Indonesia for a game against an Indonesian XI, then we're off to Vietnam to play their national team (we'll be the first English side to do so, apparently). After that, we're touring Japan, playing Wenger's old club Nagoya Grampus and then Urawa Reds.
The Emirates Cup is back and we've got Napoli and Galatasaray (Drogba will inevitably score against us). Then we wrap things up with a game against Man City in Helsinki for some reason.

It's worth mentioning that the Olympiakos match is a testimonial for Gerrard.

Roma's only known pre-season fixture so far is the MLS All-Star game on July 31st.

EDIT : nevermind.Apparently their transfers havent come through yet so they cant take the field.

Re: Summer pre season & friendly thread
No question, he almost lulls you into how good he is he's so calm about everything, and that Bradley/Strootman connection
I think the only thing I'd like to see Bradley do is to square guys up more considering how good defensively he is, but he's like a friggin jedi and get's people to turn the ball over stupidly through superior awareness and positioning.
Every King needs their General

I can't wait to see my two favorite mids (other than Gerrard) in action together this season. I will be very disappointed and angry if one ends up on the bench often though.

Re: Summer pre season & friendly thread
Couldn't help but think of RedO throughout this game.
On one hand you have the MLS All Stars in all their glory with some excellent coverage.
On the other, you have Kevin Strootman & Michael Bradley simultaneously plying midfield trade at the same time.
Quite frankly, All-Stars were completely outplayed. Garcia's team has found to look pleasing to the eye, work well in tight spaces & have shown improved awareness levels in calibration to chemistry.
-Kevin Strootman was a midfield dynamo & linked up with Bradley superbly. Undertook a vertical role in combining with Florenzi in the advanced positions and seems as if he is been familiar with Roma for year. Wonderful performance.
Michael Bradley the unsung hero in midfield. A more reserved role used to keep discipline of the line, while selflessly destroying & supplying the Roman midfield. It was his birthday today, and he deserves everyone of his plaudits.
-Alessandro Florenzi, who won this game's MVP match displayed his off-the-charts intelligence and complete skill-sets. Left foot, right foot and vision to combine with Totti was immaculate.
-Totti was just godly. Didn't break a sweat, dictated all segments of play, and when he found openings on the left flank, he stuck there and allowed Strootman to come into play while Florenzi darted with numerous off the ball runs to which the All-Stars did not have an answer for. He was perfect.
Sad that Balza had to waste so many of his through-balls in the offside position though,

Is Florenzi ready to play consistently Arq?
He's highly rated by not only Roma fans, but Italian fans too. Seems like a great prospect.

Truth be told, Romanisti would be the better judge of that, YNWA.
But after Florenzi's stellar breakout year last season, I'd definitely say so. Just looks such a complete prospect who also possesses intelligence beyond his year. Where he thrives is within the big moments, big games, tight spaces and when a challenge is directed onto his way. It fuels his propensity to perform under pressure situations where naturally, he just unlocks defences by passing or intelligent runs. Combines with his players very well, as seen with Bradley and Totti (which earns huge points). Defensively he is rash, isn't the best finisher or in the air and seems lost at times in open spaces, but those can be worked on.
Also had a stellar U-21 campaign to which only brought testament to his maturity.
Reminds me of a younger & raw Gerrard when tested in advance positions along with the sheer commitment he had.
A Romanisti opinion would suffice better though.

Or else what, he'll rescind his transfer and go back to Madrid and take all the new Napoli enthusiasts with him?
